Do any of our members over yonder (Pete?, Euro-Redneck?) hunt for morels, or any other shrooms?

I'm in southern Germany (Stuttgart) and haven't found any, although I'm told they are in the area. We are at about 800' elevation and I have been told people a little north but lower have found some. I also haven't hunted really hard and am gone a lot so I miss some of the perfect weather windows.

Around here the king of mushrooms is the "cepe", a bolete but not exactly the same as a porcini. It cooks tender more quickly and preserves well. We have chanterelles and others around my place as well.

There are lots of morels in France but I have never found one, even in the sandy riparian zones of the salmon river we fish. Dried morels sell in the markets here for 500 Euros/kilo. I have a golf buddy who is a real mushroomer. He has a spot just inside Spain he goes to every year and he gives me more dried morels than I can eat in a year. My favorite is morels in a cream sauce over a veal chop and pasta.

We have lots of these https://www.google.fr/search?q=pied+de+mouton&tbm=isch&source=iu&ictx=1&fir=0CkNXU34rmQ_6M%253A%252Cj9OKeIV-0OpRPM%252C%252Fm%252F0bmnp5&vet=1&usg=AI4_-kRzPmRXAozD_5YkmK0poYx77gwZ2Q&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiz5vGIoajiAhWwAWMBHSlCAcYQ_B0wCnoECA0QBg#imgrc=0CkNXU34rmQ_6M:
