Some know of my need for a kidney transplant. The wait is over. I entered Saint Luke's hospital at midnight Saturday and was in surgery at noon Sunday. After about 3.5 hours in surgery I now have a new to me kidney.

Good deal. I wish you a speedy recovery and many good years with your new kidney. Very generous of the donor and/or their family. I've also got to think about them, and wish them well.

That is great news, Brian! I'm not sure, but hasn't the wait been like three years or more? Sure glad they finially got you fixed up, has to be a tremendous relief! Congrads!

Thank you everyone for the kind words. Lee it has been 3 years and 10 months since I started dialysis.

Brian, great news. We are so happy for you! Cindi says hi, and we both wish you a speedy recovery.
I'm happy to hear that things are going well for you ! I pray that it continues I've got a friend who hope's to do the same thing he doesn't enjoy the dialysis

Congratulations!!!
You should feel much better within a few days or a week, especially brain function. Dialysis just doesn't clean you up like a real kidney and the effect is cumulative. I have been running a loaner kidney for 17 years... If you have any questions or if I can help, send a message.
Im glad you got one. Good friend died about 25 years ago after several years of dialysis. They just never found a match.
Glad to hear of this news Brian. We were just talking about you a few days ago, wandering if you had gotten a kidney yet. Will be praying for your speedy recovery.
