Seems like every time oil starts to get low something happens to keep the price up. Last week tankers attacked. Today tankers on fire. Next week it will be a leaky valve or maintenance that closes a line. Next month it will be that OPEC cut its output to bring prices up. Its a crazy world these days!

Just as important may be the unplanted corn that won't be harvested and distilled.

Defiantly going to raise tensions in the coming weeks though.
That's just it ! Mere fact it was a tanker IN an oil shipping lane is gonna drive an uptick .
Yep. They are now short 2 tankers! That will definitely be a price hike. Good point Aaron on the hurricanes as I sometimes forget about them as I am not effected by them other than the price of gas.

Pa. has the highest state gas tax in the country....coupled with the federal fees, the first .75 cents of every gallon go to taxes. The lowest prices in western and central Pa. seem to be around $2.60 a gallon, although you can find it being sold for over $3 in some locales.

I am the same way... I am skeptical of anything that might be construed as a coincidence... perhaps it's my lack of trust in people/humanity.
Side note: Gas was $3.09 this morning. North Idaho basically gets Alaska gas prices.

Every think there may be a conspiracy to raise the prices. Some administrations in the past have done some very corrupt things to benefit members in congress !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is $2.50 high for gas? I see people buy gas then go in and get a pint of cold water for $1. Thats $8.00 a gallon for water. They could get it for less but not cold. Now wonder is it harder to haul oil all over and refine it then haul it some more or haul water and refrigerate it and sell it.
Well I don't pay $8 a gal for water and I do complain when gas goes up, lol.
