Real ID - 07/05/19 07:46 PM

Well I get my renewal notice for my CDL that I've had for at least 25 yrs. Along with it comes all the other brochures to get real id. I decided I didn't need that so off to the DMV I go. So in the paper I got in blackened in part it says must have certified birth certificate. After 60 mi trip to get that I'm thinking I may as well get the real id. So 2 day deal now. I go armed with social security card, bank statement and electric bill for proof of address, debit card and credit card for proof of signature.
Ok to get my drivers license I need birth certificate, to get the birth certificate I need my drivers license and $15. Seems like real security right there. Any way after about 70 minutes in the DMV I'm all set to go. Probably will never go on foreign soil but may need it to cross state lines if I live long enough.

Trust me it is no better in good old PA .My wife and I spent more than 3 hours at a Penndot license facility to day We were told our marriage certificate signed by our minister was not acceptable . We needed proof from the state .So went to the county courthouse .And for $10.00 they gave us a certificate that was signed by our minister . Back to Penndot Yes we are good now .But if you come to this country illegally you should not be put under any undue stress . Sorry it was a bad day !!

Just another test to see how much tyranny we will accept.

Evidently you can occupy the Whitehouse for eight years, without a valid birth certificate. Don't know why you would need one to drive a truck or get a concealed carry permit.

Had to send for my birth certificate from the State to get my permit. The copy I've had since I was born was not good enough. sick

I was in the DMV last year and a guy came in to license his car and was asked for his DL and he said he didn't have one. He was with a women so maybe she was the driver but how do you get insurance with no DL. Gotta love this country, oh and he could speak English sorta.

I just guess it is part of how things are now .But to me they are documenting those that they clearly know who they are At our expense and it does not add any value to us .

We have a right to travel. No need for a license. If your traveling for commerce you need a license. Technically.

The way it used to be and I put emphasis on used to be. When my mom could no longer drive she still had the car and license and insurance and some of the family would drive her, she didn't need a drivers license.

You have to prove your innocent and if you are (we won't say illegal) we'll say a square peg and don't fit in a round hole then we have a sanctuary at no cost to you.
