Dang, that’s grocery store prices. I get mine from a fellas pickup truck on the side of the road. Coop will have a better price since he lives closer to where they grow them.

Re: Trap shed - 07/18/19 09:27 PM

Watermelons here were $3.00 or two for $5.00 today in town. It was a pickup parked in a restaurant parking lot selling local melons.

I've heard watermelon wine is right good, but I've never tried it. It may not be good for a headache if taken in large quantities.

Re: Trap shed - 07/18/19 09:29 PM

Best watermelon I ever had was purchased somewhere in North Carolina from a farmer selling out of a pickup parked next to an old run-down gas station. If I could of I would have bought more and called it my carry on luggage for the trip home to Montana. It was an actual sweet watermelon with honest to god black seeds in it. Something you don't find in the grocery stores.

The people who want traps, respond to the people selling traps, then buy the traps that they wanted.

You looking to sell some traps?

Watermelon wine is good, in moderation.

let me get this straight...………..some traps are being traded for watermelon wine or is it when you drink too much watermelon wine you feel the urge to trade traps??
Posted By: Foxpaw

Re: Trap shed - 07/18/19 11:19 PM

Water melons are 2 for $4 at walmart at Harrisburg, Illinois, has been for 3 weeks. Be glad for the cantalope harvest to peak. Did you know you can chunk and freeze cantalope. Last year was my first year to try it and I like it. Its best if you can lay them out on tray to freeze then sack up, they don't freeze in a glob that way.

Better yet, grapes that are turned into wine, then chilled, is quite refreshing on a hot day. I've had this, unlike watermelon wine.

Re: Trap shed - 07/19/19 09:34 AM

I wish i had known you never had water melon wine i would have brought you some. People either love it or hate it. Its a white wine not red. The red settles out very quickly. Its best jacked in a freezer a couple times and drank cold.

Re: Trap shed - 07/19/19 04:58 PM

Had some cantaloupe for breakfast last few days, do you prefer male or female watermelons for wine?

Know the difference between a male and female orange?

Male orange will squirt in your eyes when ya peel it, female oranges are bitter for no reason.

Try a tea of 1 part spider guts, 3 parts cobweb, and 2 parts toad warts. Throw in a little sassafras root for flavor. Simmer for 3 min and drink after freezing. grin laugh

Re: Trap shed - 07/20/19 11:58 PM

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the cauldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a heck-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Both for full potency.

Anybody halve a cantaloupe, scoop out the seeds and replace em' with ice cream? That's what I like to eat when I'm shopping for traps in the trap shed.

After the drink freezes of course, kind of like ice cream. If you want to drink it thawed, you must use 3 table spoons of that green stuff that comes from the north end of a south bound possum as a chaser. Nobody wants the possum juice. sick laugh
