Tires for Shorelander trailer -- help please! - 07/29/19 07:49 PM
Time to replace trailer tires and my old ones are ST 155/80R13. Looking around can't find 'em. Come to find out they aren't made anymore.
One source on the 'net suggests stepping down to a 5.30 X 12C tire. The thought is the original 13s were so close to the fenders, that trying to replace that tire with a newer 13" tire would create issues with the fenders. The fenders always were real close to the tires.
This is for the fishing/duck hunting boat. 18' Lowe jon with 35 horse Go Devil.
Boat and motor probably weigh in at 700 lbs. Not much else in the boat when trailering.
Any thoughts on this? Anyone replace their 13" tires with 12" tires?
Thanks.
