Casey's - 08/04/19 08:58 PM

Any trappers on here a fan of Casey's General Store? If you're not from the midwest I dont think you would know about it. I believe it was founded in Iowa and now it's in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

lol, we have three in every town in Iowa I think. Very nice to have one in our small town too. Pretty good pizza too.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 09:33 PM

Every small town in MO has one, always have clean bathrooms and make a good pizza, turnover, and sandwiches. My personal favorite gas station.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 09:34 PM

Agreed, the pizza ain't half bad.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 09:43 PM

Stop at Casey's quite often when in the midwest. Never had a bad experience at one of their stores. Have not tried the pizza but will keep it in mind for my next trip out that way.

Best gas station around.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 10:17 PM

We have 1 on the south side of town and 1 in Hillcrest 1 mile north of town. Decent pizza.

Never seen them in the eastern 3rd of the state. I do agree, they are a great station.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 10:30 PM

We have them down here in Southern Illinois. My little town has a population of around 8000 and we have 2 Casey's. Almost had a 3rs but for some reason that one fell through. Pretty much every sizable town down here has one.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 10:36 PM

I don't eat gas station food but I buy gas there. buy diesel from them too at the stations with truck pumps. if you want to just pay cash, and I usually do, they just turn the pump on. no standing in line twice

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 10:46 PM

They're in Arkansas now. One about to open up locally.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 11:02 PM

We have one in our little town of 500, the pizza and pork tenderloins are good, the pulled pork I’ve had wasn’t the best.

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 11:06 PM

Their blueberry and apple fritters are awful tasty also.

I've never had a bad experience with them!

Re: Casey's - 08/04/19 11:34 PM

Bigger fan of Kwik Star or Kwik Trip. Get their card and save money on fuel purchases and coupons for free items, etc. Better pizza at Casey's, but way better staples and everything else at Kwik Star/Trip.

Yep, that's the way I look at it. I'll stop for gas there, just so I can grab a slice or two of pizza. I like their sausage pizza and their breakfast pizza.

Weren't some of these originally " Huck's" convenience stores?

ADC if you spent as many years as I have living in a truck you wouldn't eat gas station food either. I am tired of it. Don't have to eat it anymore.

Re: Casey's - 08/05/19 12:27 AM

Expect a 2-3 mpg drop in fuel consumption with their gas. Pizza is pretty decent but I prefer Hunt Brothers.

Great blueberry donuts

Re: Casey's - 08/05/19 02:23 AM

Have several in my area, 3 in town of 10,000. Closed the 4th down. Sometimes get gas there, but most often a mom and pop that dispenses BP. Get better mileage with the BP than Casey's

Re: Casey's - 08/05/19 04:18 AM

Yes, know the company well. Did tremendous business with them for many years. Watched them evolve over the last 30 years. My Little League baseball coach for several years was the company’s CFO for many years. I watched that stock roll around the $12-16 range for many years; every evening news, it would report the closing stock price for several Iowa companies. After I started moving around with my career, I lost track of the stock for many years. Think it was up around $130 here a year or two ago. They’ve done very well.

Many years ago, before the pizza and sandwiches took off they were known for their coffee and donuts. Some company info was shared with me and it was mind boggling how many cups of coffee and donuts were sold daily ; those numbers today are no doubt dwarfed due to their tremendous growth.

It is the center of our town. Without Caseys, we would have nothing in our town.........seriously. The bank closed two years ago.

Love Casey's but don't know why they keep changing the breakfast burritos. They couldn't make them fast enough here, so they changed them so no one wants them now.

Their chicken bacon ranch pizza will change your life grin

First one I've seen north of the state line.
