Bluegill spawn - 08/05/19 08:30 PM

I live right on the Illinois/Wisconsin border.
I have fished for spawning Bluegill for decades now from the last week of May until just about the end of June. That's been mostly the end of it. It might squeak into July.
Yesterday(Aug. 4), I caught a bluegill loaded with eggs. Next time I get out(soon), I am going to check the usual places for beds(nests).
I know in the south that gill spawn more than once a year. I guess that I have never fished much for them this late.
Have any of you folks in the northern states found Bluegill spawning in the mid to late summer?

68 degree water + full moon = blue gill spawn no matter how north you are . At least 1 full moon every month...................................

That is why they will take over a pond or small body of water unless you have lots of predators in it or harvest LOTS.......

Caught 'gills full of spawn throughout summer for many years here in WI. Fry it up, it's extra protein.
