42 Years Ago...

The King died.......supposedly.

Man I'm gettin' old if that was 42 yrs ago...

I remember exactly where I was. Standing on an irrigation ditch, just before sundown. The boss came to pick me up to take me home and said "Today the King died." Memories . . . .

He's dead. He told me so.

Seriously.... Twenty years ago I was fishing with clients in Panama for sailfish and marlin. ONe morning I fished with a guy who wanted to try to catch a sailfish on a fly rod. We had a good morning and he caught his fish but we started BS-ing on the way back to the lodge.

He was a trauma surgeon from Portland Oregon at the time but he did his residency in Memphis. He was on duty the night that Elvis died and he assured me that Elvis is dead.

I play lots of Elvis' songs on my guitars and love him//// but he IS dead.
