Live broadcast

My Alzeheimer's is kicking in and I didn't want to hijack Wild-Idaho's podcast thread. Who remembers back about 2008 when Pete-in-Fairbanks, myself and Paul Dobbins.........when Rhonda let him stay up late............were involved in a live broadcast ? I can't remember who hosted that but it was a fun time for all. Even Pete understood.... .at least back then......what we were talking about .

I can't remember who was running it. Someone south of the MD line I am sure ! It was around 1800 in Idaho so about 2000 ET

If Paul does not remember, maybe it was Rhonda who stayed up late.

2008 was pre-chemo. There are quite a few things I can't recall prior to that ordeal. 2000 ET isn't past my curfew, so Rhonda's permission wouldn't have been required.

I distinctly recall her PM'ing me that you could stay up late that night just for the broadcast > Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm A "one-time thing" she said !!

I don't remember this podcast but working 75-80 hours a week might have dulled my one remaining brain cell .

Really ?? It was all done by phone of course. Like a big trapping teleconference. Wish I could remember who hosted that. It was an ongoing series of broadcasts every so often with different folks involved each time.

It sounds like some of you hide your own Easter eggs too!

Rhonda says she doesn't recall this event either. She said she doesn't even know how to send a PM. (She doesn't have an account on here, never has) Old age is catching up to you Ken - lol.

The first TMan book was back in 2003 when it was published. I remember because that was my first year of college and DeSalvo kept bugging me to put an article in.

And I doubt y'all knew what a podcast was back in 08 lol.

I thought Mike Disalvo did the second one. The one with no page numbers. Didn't Kyle Kaatz do the first one?

I didn't get anything in the second book. But that's the one I own.

Sniper, I believe you are right about podcasts but maybe whoever was doing this just archived the sessions so they could be listened to again. Any memory of that ?

I do remember when I first joined, sometime before the big crash of 06 that White had posted a very interesting documentary of a ferry ride, a winter truck driving escapade and so forth.
Now that I am a mature adult (do not take my wife's opinion on that) I would love to read that again.

Zim, I too recall him writing that story about his winter driving escapade. Ken, can you post that again? It was a heck of a good read, as best I remember.

That should keep him busy. Perhaps he won't keep worrying about the mystery pod cast that only he recalls!

I thought the one about the inside passage on the ferry was great. I actually printed it out and have it around somewhere.

Thew winter truck adventure was a great read as well.

Ya, as I remember they were all one adventure.
If'n I remember correctly both the truck and ferry were powered by
an internal combustion engine rather that steam but was likely shortly
after the conversion.

Truck was pulled by a team of broke moose , ferry was towed a couple of orca's .
At his age he needs help jogging his memory.

I quit jogging over 50 years ago

I was going through some old files on my computer and found a "bio" that I had produced "for the June 2008 Pod-cast!"

While I still don't recall participating or any details, the evidence is clear that we must have done SOMETHING in that regard at about that time.

There is one specific detail of the conversation that I recall

We were talking about bears for some reason.

Paul asked if you had ever been charged.

Before you could reply....I interrupted...........of course, and said " Yes he's been charged several times but never convicted".

Maybe I remember it because it is such a frequent occurrence.
