PETA alarm!

PETA alarm! - 08/21/19 11:49 PM

Gave my yearly kids talk on trapping over the weekend for the GFP 6 groups for a 35 minute talk that ends with Abby coming out of her box the kids love seeing her.

So this young lady starts asking questions about trapping at the end so BOOM the PETA alarm goes off, so we talk a bit and she wanted to get into the outdoors. I made some points on the need for population controls and how it benefits the species in the end and never got the "Hugger" look. Well I'm not bringing her home I doubt the wife would not like my new friend. LOL So I pointed her to the Female CO and dropped her off a packet for a women's 3 day outdoor seminar out in the Black Hills to see if she is serious. It's tough to help someone out today the less you help people the less of a chance of problems coming up so a person needs to be careful.

Now Monday the "Cat Lady" lost her cat and the alarm went off again (Cat Lady=Anti?) but talking with her and seeing how she handled herself in the outdoors that alarm went off quickly. I know guys that would not do as good as she did in snake country.

Just saying you never know, but them facebook friends request with the supermodel photo I just picture a 300lb hairy Russian dude pretending to be a female! LOL

Re: PETA alarm! - 08/22/19 12:02 AM

A guy should always enter any conversation with a stranger as a possible trap from the antis that's just good business! When I give talks you can pick out the hugger sitting back waiting to pounce the first chance they get.

I’m the cat lady. It’s true I am NOT pro PETA. I am pretty liberal on a lot of issues. However, I understand the need for good animal husbandry and that includes population control, hunting, and trapping. I am an excellent marksman, and enjoy the heck out of shooting. I want to learn to hunt. I think it is more humane to take an animal from the wild than factory farm. I came on this forum for support and out of admiration and need for trappers. I love animals but am PRO HUNTING (for food or control, not so much trophies and def not endangered species), PRO POPULATION CONTROL, and PRO SECOND AMENDMENT. PETA is not an organization I support or believe is treating animal issues appropriately.

And we met face to face so you know I’m not anti. I came to you guys for help. Not to attack you for your skills. I need those skills real bad right now. I’m a country girl, and I’ve been around hunting all my life. I live in Wyoming where the hunting is good and the Elk delicious. I have a gun for self defense and I can shoot someone in the eyeball at 30 feet w a Glock 19. My accuracy rate is 98%. Moving, rapid target change, still 98% bullseye. Next stop, hunting rifle.

The old mans pet skunk sat on the couch and watched TV with him every night. But you have to consider my dad used to bring the horse in the house into the living room when Mr Ed was on.He would let the horse watch Mr.Ed,and they would have a beer together,,then the horse went back to the barn. That horse realy liked beer. That is the honest to gods truth.

I think the more your on here, the more you realize how genuine the site is. Last of the Mohicans, and we are a part of it. This may seem cheesey to some but we are connected to the first trapper, the lover of everything outdoors, and history is recorded in bites now. The continuity is priceless and as not a suck***, we do have Paul and I think Charlie to thank for it. Just my opinion...

That's awesome Yvonne. I hope you get a good teacher with hunting. You're in good hands with Jerry. I figured you weren't Peta and were desperate to get your cat back. I hope you do get it back and we see you being successful hunting.

CATFISHED!!! Beware of FB hotties. There are plenty of us real women out there. Strong, financially independent, lovely women. Who are real. 50+ yo dudes are truly missing out passing over us nearly 50 women who can cook, smoke meat, grill, and break down game. I am a surgeon. That is super useful. I’m fit, take care of myself and might be kind of pretty to some. Yet I haven’t been on a date in 2 years. We are out here, women who are real and would like a relationship. But I can’t make myself 20 yrs old. Maybe some dudes need to stop holding out for a 20 something and see a real woman.

Well I really appreciate it because some people have stepped up incredibly kindly. I’ve made some nice friends and I don’t want anybody thinking I’m some kind of spy plant for freaking PETA. Umm...NO. I wouldn’t take that job. I’m doing my OB/Gyn thing in Maine. I do not have time to pretend to be PETA, who I philosophically disagree with anyway.
