Aaron needs prayers

Aaron Profitt had a major stroke this morning. He was air lifted to OKC.

His wife said in the post that he had tPA (clot dissolving drugs) done at the local hospital but apparently they didn't work as they were life flighting him to OKC for a clot retrieval procedure. There have been no updates as of yet.

She just texted me back, Aaron is out of surgery and is now in recovery.

Even though I don't know him he posts pics of his recurves at times, and I shoot those also. I was just thinking of him this afternoon.
Hope he makes a complete, full recovery.

Holy cow! I text him quite a bit. Really good dude. You're in my thoughts man! Keeping my fingers crossed.

His brother also posted an update. Said that he was out of surgery as Adam posted, and also that there IS permanent damage but they do not know the extent yet. Said he was expected to remain in ICU for the next several days.

Thank you too Angela for the updates. I hadn't heard from Aaron in a bit and just yesterday I noticed I hadn't seen him on here much lately and thought I would call him this weekend. So sorry this has happened.

Aaron is one of my better "online friends" that I've never met, and I absolutely hate this. Great guy. First his house burns to the ground last year, and now this. He's been on Facebook this week. The other day he was remembering a great dog he'd lost and was missing, and just last night he posted about planning to take up competition archery.

I have never met Aaron, but whenever I see one of his posts, I;m all over it. He is THAT kind of guy. He is the most cordial person on this site that I can think of. Whenever there are points of contention during a discussion, he has always taken the high road, making a point to hear me out. I can tell you this, I could stand to be more like Aaron in that sense.
So it goes without saying, but I"ll say it anyway. Get well soon Aaron!

Great news on the full motor skills and ability to understand, so far. Aaron is tough. If anyone can overcome this and come out strong on the other side it's him.

Yep, got the notification that he was "live" and watched it. Speech seems a bit of a challenge for him, but he is not slurring. Nor does he show signs of paralysis... at least not in his face. But considering what he has been through he seemed to be in relatively good spirits.

My wife and I are considering going down to see him and Stephanie... But I'm not sure having a gaggle of visitors is what he needs right now.

Aaron, if you're reading this, we're praying for you buddy. Rest up and get better.

That was my thoughts watching the video Mike. Seems to be good overall other than the challenge of speaking.

Like I told him on facebook, I imagine the speech will come, he's just got to learn to again. All in all, he seems to have come out of it real good.

My son 28 years old had a stroke 1 1/2 years ago....no drugs or alcohol or tobacco...when he came home he was wiped out. Walked slow around the house....it took some time. He still gets tired to this day....some short term memory loss....but no physical damage or speech.....it gets better each day. So a full recovery is attainable....just keep at it !

I'm still improving and fine motor skills are getting better. Verbal conversation is pretty tedious , tiring . But it's part of , well, it is .

Apparently , it wasn't single event I learned . It was pair of strokes. I don't remember much of the AirMed flight from Lawton to Oklahoma City, landed at the wrong hospital ( not air crew's fault ) , disembarked to the ER, then crew hot start took straight to Integris Heart Hospital. Soon as they landed , straight into OR. Stephanie , my wife, rode in the flight so as I could communicate for me . Out of consciousness , really .

Once the clots had been stabilized , took a dangerous turn with Afib between 170-185. Took about 36 hours finally correct. Looks like maybe Tues or Wed might release.

I'm not real sure what comes . Probably abalation . Can't how to spell that procedure, also most likely blood thinners. I may not be able to drive for a bit after that procedure .

But i actually feel pretty good. Thank you for your thoughts and prayer. I figure at the worst , I won't be speaking at anything such as a two hour sermon , anyway.

I have stamina issues after I survived a Bad stroke, and when tired or stressed my s's and F's start slurring. PBA also but God has us here for a reason ...for another season.

Not sure how I missed this Aaron, but nothing but the best from here! First thought when I found this was, he's too young for a stroke, but I know some young guys that have been plagued with them. Glad you are on the mend and will keep you in my prayers for a full recovery!

Aaron, you made my day, heck my whole week. I have had you on my mind constantly and what a blessing this is. So glad your on the mend, don't get frustrated as all will come.
