Idaho @ Penn State - 08/31/19 09:54 PM

Dang, I feel bad for Idaho, Penn State winning 58-0. They sure came a long ways to get whooped like this.

Idaho is used to getting whooped like that. The reason they schedule games like that is for the money. I think they get something like 3/4 of a million to let Penn State beat them!! LOL

Is there such a thing as football abuse?

Well ya didn't "rock" lowly SEC bottom feeder in the conference - KENTUCKY, now did ya? ha,ha,ha

Pennsylvania isn't getting the money. Idaho gets the money for the privilege of traveling cross country to be a punching bag for Penn State.

They do it every year. Couple of years ago, they played Florida State. Same outcome.

Another couple weeks and Idaho will be back in their own conference. And they will still get their butt kicked!!

I think the payout might be about a million. Kentucky wasn't a bottom feeder last year, they had a pretty good team.

Good on a national scale maybe, not so much in the SEC, except for a couple of good wins Florida 27-16 and Miss St. 28-7.... We had pretty much beat everyone else before in other years, but the stronger teams we lost to were GA 34-17 and TN 27-7 which Penn St. would have been no match for either.

It's a different standard inside the conference, but it was the best KY has ever been to date.

Tennessee made the SEC proud today.

When I went to school for oh, so long, at the University of Spudaho, the football teams, the basketball teams, even the sewing teams, got beat repeatedly and resoundingly. I never, in 7 years and 2 degrees at U of I, went to a sports event. However, there was a famous court case that played out while I was attending school there. There was a 12-yr-old boy that had been farmed out from family to family for a period of several years, and for some reason, he was getting abused at each foster care facility where he resided. At the end of 4 years of verbal and physical abuse, a local judge finally asked the poor child, "Son, your parents abused you. Your uncle abused you, 3 or 4 foster environments abused you even further. Son, where would you like to live for the next couple of years". The boy's response was... "Your Honor, I would like to be adopted by the University of Idaho football team". The judge was incredulous. "Why, boy, would you like to be adopted by the football team?" His response? "Well Sir, they haven't beat anybody for at least 20 years".

Gulo - that was baaaaaad.

If you look in the Kibbie Dome, there are a few banners hanging. Including the Women's NIT basketball tournament championship a while back.

But overall, they do tend to suck when it comes to major sports.

The date for this game was signed by Sandy Barbour(athletic director) in 2015 when Penn State was in the middle of sanctions, and Idaho was still a legit FBS member of the Sun Belt Conference, a year before the Vandals went 9-4 and took down 15-point favorite Colorado State in their bowl game.

Wish they would play somewhere else. With all the construction traffic was lousy yesterday and will b today. Wish Penn State would play all away games!

You want to see some bad traffic........try downtown Boise !!

I remember...barely...........back in the day when I was starting back to college. Like Gulo I didn't give a rip about sports programs and never attended any games.

BUT.....when browsing through the Catalog for UI I saw a line about "social life on campus". It went on to describe the senior prom event where all couples received a full tin of snoose and a current copy of the Idaho big game laws !.

Well, that explains that. I could not figure out why a smaller school team like Idaho would want to play Penn State. When Idaho went back into the Big Sky Conference last year some Idaho fans were upset of this decision. However, last year their first year back in the conference they went 4-7 including a 62-28 loss against their cross state rivals Idaho State. They probably would have been destroyed if they remained in the FBS.

For these small schools, these games can do very good things for them. Some times, the earning from a single game will find their entire athletic department for a year. Sure their team gets beat pretty good, but if they happen to get an upset there is all the attention for the school that surrounds that.
