572 xp husqvarna

We've been waiting for months to have a demo saw at the store. Sold and started a couple of the 572 but have not cut with one till today. We cut with a stock 372 wrap handle first then switched to the 572. Night and day difference. I never thought I needed a $1,000 saw till today. I highly recommend it to anyone that is considering buying one.

I'd love it. I have a hardly used 6 year old 660. It's like new. Carb version that's a 6 years old. I traded some things I don't use anymore for it. It's a runner. I'd trade it for a 572.

I did a bit of research and ended up with a couple of Stihl saws instead. I do have a small Husky for the Missus though and like it for what it is. For grunt, the MS661 is tough to beat ... aint no lightweight though.

That's the thing about the 572, light enough to pack around with a big bar.

For that I have a 388 with a 28 " bar with 70cc it still has enough power for most things the 661 travels in the truck or the 6 wheeler

About 10-12 yrs ago I got a 575xp. Use it with a 24” bar for hardwood over 16”. Never have had a problem.

Love our 572's great saws. Have old 266's for small work.

I have an older 372xp and didn't think anything could touch it.

Bought a 550 XP this spring, love it.

My money was on the 372 also. The husky rep told us it's %15 faster, but I think it was way faster than that. We were cutting a oak log, about 20 inches The 372 was a 2015 model almost no hours on the saw, factory bar and chain. The 572 had the new x cut chain. It was a huge difference in cut time. There was no slowing down the 572

Auto tune all computer no adjusting carb. I just bought a 372xp was talked out of the 576 xp .

What does a new 372 cost now, if they still make them?

I hope husky did something with those crappy plastic cage bearings they used in the other autotune saws . We sold jonsered saws at my work and I have rebuilt one and had 4 others husky wouldn't even think about standing behind and warranty them. I have held the 572 and it just seems a bit bulky to me. I have a js2166 that I made into a 372 and that saw is way better than the 372 that someone stole off my porch. Good looking saw and I have heard good reviews from some that have run them.

$880.00 roughly can get them for less end of year or sale. I recall when I was in the shop this summer. Bought a husky limbing saw for pruning apple trees.

I got my 372 at an auction- get this, they had a Homelite xl12 advertised with pictures, nothing else. I see this Husqvarna handle sticking out from under a table, I pulled it out and saw it was a 372. I was a nervous wreck and knew of one other logger there and about 30 amish. I figured I would go 350 and got it for 90.00. I been around a lot of saws and could tell this one didn't have many hours on it. It was however, heavily stained with pine pitch. The xl12 got 35.00 LOL.

I own a tree service and I've ran 372xp for 15 years but this 572xp is a beast, probably the fastest cutting saw I've ever used

I wouldn't take a 576 for free........ heavy and they don't cut that fast. for the weight you might as well buy a 395......

I worked on a 3120 a couple months ago, it had a 20 inch bar on it, and I don't think it cut as fast as the 572.

Lots of opinions but, no hard facts. What is the horsepower? At what rpm? Weight? Durability?

I haven't put a tack on the 572. Most of the new huskys are 14,000 plus - that is what takes the life out of them. They are very similar in weight to the 562. I believe they have worked out the bugs over seas in the last couple years before the release here.

All I know is that I have cut with a lot of saws, and this is the fastest cutting stock saw I have used. Hopefully husky has improved on the crank bearings, those have been the week spot for years

I have a modified 372 & with an 8 pin sprocket it runs like a raped ape.When I heard the 372 was being discontinued I was planning on getting another and just keeping it in the box till needed and then have that one warmed up. It out cuts a buddies 461 Sthil.

Is the 572 dealer dependent, as in tuning software or updates or?
If so could you share about it.
If not, just a country boy myth?
If it tunes itself to temp and elevation, that's got to be good I'd think?

I've got way too many chainsaws. The two larger workhorses are a 385XP/28" and Dolmar 6400/20". Your 572 falls right in-between and could be a nice compromise to reduce my inventory. Maybe if ever one fails, I might consider a 572 given the time to prove itself.

It is an auto tune saw. You can not adjust anything, you can do a factory reset like the other auto tunes.

The program to plug into the saw is dealer only. We cannot even do adjustments, we can do software up dates, and resets. The nice thing is the fault codes, hour meter and other info like that. I can tell how much time you cut, and how much time the saw is idle.




i'm actually a bigger fan of the stihl M tronic program. It has more tools and capabilities. We can tune any of the older non Mtronic carb saws also. I have a MS 361 that I built, it was tuned with a tach and my ear first. I did a lot of cutting and was very happy with it. We ran it on the computer (about 15 minutes) it was a totally different saw.

Be interesting to know how your program reacts after the engine has been ported, compression increased, flywheel timing changed, and muffler altered. Or even running a different oil ratio.
I know those will void warrantee, I also know many of us don't care about said warrantee other than a backwards piston or loose components inside.

I am not a Husky guy and have always ran Stihls. How does this compare in size to my 066 or 660?

372 close to the 461 stihl and the 395 close to 660

It is light and cuts like I suspect that fossil giant beaver used to.

Unfortunately, the thing has been rebuilt twice in its very short life. Scored cylinder both times. The dealer swears it was due to insufficient oil in the gas. Did not honor warrantee. $300plus both times. Funny thing is that I used the same mix in my 385xp with no problems.

I am still using it, and it cuts great, but triple checking the mix which I make way too "rich" out of fear.

have 2 562's, and a 372, great saws
