Add a 30 to 50 MPH wind to that in open country and it can make a mess.

Forget early season trapping. We'll have to wait till the fields freeze in order to drive across them. That or you better have road access to grazed pasture land and can drive across the grass. Was thinking of trying to trap ditches for coon but those are flooded out for the most part.

We were just on the edge of it. It is hard to tell how much we got, but I would guess 6-8 inches. Some spots are bare and others have snow to your crotch. Some place got hammered a lot worse than we did.

There is now an inch at best, and it will melt today. Just a dusting.

Re: Norwestern - 10/13/19 11:53 PM

We got up to 41 today, only 9 degrees warmer than they predicted. It had a pretty good melt here. Even if it all melts, it will be so muddy you can't pull off the road, not even on a two track until after it is froze.

bucksnbears I hope it freezes before deer season. The two tracks will be shot if not. For those of you that have never seen what snow and a 50-60 mph wind can do, hears a picture for you. It may take a couple days to melt that one.
