So Little Coverage

So Little Coverage - 10/16/19 12:06 AM

Thirty years ago if the people of Hong Kong, or any other people for that matter, were demonstrating for freedom against a communist regime it would have been the top story of the world news of ABC, NBC, and CBS. In 2019 though it is almost a minor miracle for the "news" sources to even mention the protest in Hong Kong. I wonder why the lack of coverage?

Probably not in the best interest while trying to get some trade talks completed with the the largest market in the world.

There seems to be only one thing that matters in this world anymore MONEY. Forget freedom forget right or wrong it all boils down to money and power.

No I must be older than you cause I can remember when a mans word meant something and you could seal a deal with a handshake.

With the people i choose to surround myself with, that still means something around here.

But even back to roman times it was all about money and power, at least when talking about government dealings. I havent seen many people that got even a little bit of power not be corrupted at least just a little. The more power, the more corruption.

Hard to do news coverage of people losing their freedom to communism while also promoting the current lineup of candidates running against Trump.

That would explain the media's lack of coverage. I guess China already owns the U.S.A. and the media silence is a just a tell. Can't upset the emperor.

I'm seeing the opposite. I'm tired of always hearing about Hong Kong.

Mainenanceguy nailed it.
How can MSDNC, NBDNC, ABDNC, , CBDCN, and PBSDNC, argue for freedom on behalf of those in Hong Kong, while at the same time argue against our freedom by promoting the Communist Democrats?

Re: So Little Coverage - 10/16/19 02:21 AM

Wouldn't it be sort of hypocritical for the news to show the downfalls of communism in another country while giving it free reign at home or at least no resistance?

Wisconsin national main stream media world news must be different than it is in Arkansas. No longer having cable that is the only "news" I get. Watch the world news about every day. For instance, yesterday on ABC's World News towards the end of the coverage it was mentioned that in Hong Kong they were burning Lebron James shirts for some idiotic thing he said. Probably all of 30 seconds. That's it. Impeachment talk and the bad things the POTUS does makes up near half of the 30 minute broadcast.
There is obviously something different in coverage. Pike River, another WI resident, is also seeing plenty of coverage. About a week ago there was a mass shooting involving Hispanics. I saw it mentioned once and never again but Pike said there was all kinds of coverage. Who knew that the national main stream media ran separate broadcast for different regions of the country.
