What ya doing this weekend?

Me, I'm headed down to Jerrell Plantation State Park to fly the flag for my local bee clubs at the annual syrup day. They're making a run of cane syrup, I'm bringing hot biscuits. LOL

Sitting at a rain delay football game right now. Called it for lightning with 43 seconds to go in the forth up by 18 but their coach wants to finish it.

I am on call for my job. Have to go in to the plant and ck the systems and do a walk around each day. Wanted to go trim up some tree stands but I can't get too far from the truck…. in case the phone rings. I'll find many things to do here at home.... always do.

Been sitting on the couch I think I have the flu. Plan on going to the Dr. in the morning to find out for sure.

Getting the shed ready for the season and buying supplies after looking iver everything.

Saturday night Iam watching my Nephew play high school football ....and Sunday we are going out in the Fakawee ...one more time ..for some brookies ,before I put the motor in the basement and cover it for the Wintah. And taking Monday morning off to shoot my .62 cal Smoothbore Flintah ,at the range.

Working 24 hr shift - be home 10:00 am tomorrow. Bow hunting tomorrow afternoon. Church, apple festival and digging hole for 500 gal propane tank on Sunday. Bow hunting Monday morning.

Heading out to Heritage Days at a town up the road a little bit. Big yard sale starting at 7am. My son’s band plays at 10am.

Processing two cords of firewood and stacking on the front porch then unloading a pile of scaffold and equipment from a job last week. Gonna hunt some deer if time permits.

The state park crew is making cane syrup from sugar cane. Down here we have two kinds of syrup, cane and as my grandfather would say "Sorghum, is what them poor folks up north have to eat because they cant grow cane". North in this case being north of Birmingham, AL.

The cane is crushed in a roller mill to extract the juice, filtered then boiled in kettle or pan the same as you yanks do maple.

We were asked to come down to man a table and represent the local bee clubs.

yeah,about the same here,clean up some stuff,stack wood,might hunt but headed for a fire and a couple hours workin in my fur shop gettin ready for somethin someday now.

I have bought local Virginia-made sorghum. Pretty expensive stuff.

Working. Because program managers cant manage their programs. Suppliers cant deliver their prts on time. And general lack of resources can't always provide labor when we need it. Im not bitter or anything. I wouldn't rather be in a treestand right now.

This weekend I'm putting in a new front door and some other things to keep our home updated.

Last night though I made up a few dozen pogo anchors on 18" cable for our 1.5 and 1.75 coils. As much rain as we have had this year, some of our ponds and creeks actually still have water in them and want to run a few water sets again for a change. I've dirt trapped coyotes and coon my whole life, but in years like this there is something just fun about hip boots, pocket sets, and a bucket of fish chunks. Never tried pogos before so this is my first run with them.

Early this morning me and the dog (Ernie) are going for an 8 mile run. Got a half marathon coming up in 2 weeks I've been prepping for.

i have 1/4 acre full of sugar beets and turnips with 6 ft fence around it.of the 9 deer out back right now,7 are inside the fence.i will take the fence and posts down today and turn the christian radio station on in the camper/deer blind there loud.hoped to leave it till nov 1 but it aint happenin.

Coffee, bacon, eggs, and biscuits this morning. Then late morning or midday bowhunting. Bowhunting tomorrow and hopefully a little walleye fishing in the afternoon.

Birthday party for my 8-year-old daughter at the skating rink this afternoon. I think I'll just watch instead of lacing up the skates for two reasons: I'm 52, and it's too close to trapping season to risk injury.

Yeah...I have to be there at noon....gonna be a long night...

I’ll probably be out of there at 1:30am or so.

Next weekend is Arkansas for homecoming, then a bye week, then LSU.

Gonna call yotes, just one set up on the back 40. Then drive over to watch the grandkids play football. Then back for a punkin carving party at a freinds house.
Tomorrow I'll go help a lady from work who just lost her husband winterize her sprinkler system and do a couple chores she needs done. Then back to cook more elk camp food.

Why you guys staying up to watch the Bama game? They play my Vols so it's almost like a bye week, definitely not worth staying up late to watch. Hopefully in 3-4 years we can get back to staying within 20 pts of Bama. Been coaching my two youth football teams this morning, then planning on taking my 7 yr old deer hunting this evening. Tomorrow is church then Sunday dinner at dad's. Then take the 9 yr old hunting

Our friend Amanda and her son came up today and we went to Ohio Caverns, then to a pseudo Amish bulk, butcher, deli and produce market and then to a real Amish home store. We had a good time.

Did an archery event at a local fall festival today. We had about 500 kids and adults shoot today.

Tomorrow I’m going to try and sit in the woods with my bow for a little bit.

I went Squirrel hunting, got one too..

Blew insulation in the attic yesterday. Checked out a 1 mile x 4 mile farm for trapping today, looks very promising for yotes and cats. Tomorrow I might put in a new kitchen sink or go get some carp for bait, the carp sounds like more fun.

Been here at the Bland Va convention selling our wares. Rained a bunch last night but radar show it cleared out. Hate to leave this beautiful valley today! It’s our favorite show of the year.

i swear i've gone 360 degrees or more without my feet touching because of said rocks myself.

Got the old front door cut out and new one I stalled, came out nice.
Today made a crock pot of chili and puttered in garage. Got last of the traps waxed, made up a few dozen snares, and a jillion pogo anchors.
Bought a bale of chopped straw from tractor supply. Supposed to be for chicken bedding but this stuff is light, dry, and small pieces. Should be a lot of pipe dream and other sets in this bale.
The chili is awesome, too.

My wife filled her buck tag last night(spike) and shot two turkeys this morning. I shot a goose this morning in my front yard, a first for us, not sure what he was doing there. Still trying to get everything ready for winter when we have a spare minute.
