My Bow Killed Buck

Tough day bow hunting with wind gust up to 32 MPH then finally it let up a little bit this evening. Caught this guy coming thru at 6:35 and I only had a about 4 seconds to get the shot off. I made a perfect double lung shot and he ran only 45 yards before crashing hard. Not my biggest buck by far but still a decent buck with a bow + it's more meat in the freezer.

Congratulations. We have so many acorns,hickories and beech nuts on the ground it’s hard to walk. I have seen two deer and four bears so far but no shots. Going back to the Adirondack Mountains for the opening of rifle season this weekend.

Good job! I considered last night but I hate the wind......I went and ran my cameras instead and saw definite increased buck activity and at least three I would let an arrow fly on. The deer are really working the acorns over by me and with the wind yesterday I noticed quite a few more on the ground now.

Really nice buck. The wind was bad here also, the tree rocking almost put me to sleep, except for the occasional cold mist/rain that would blow through. Deer movement here has been slow, WAY too much corn and beans still standing.

Nice buck and the wind has been horrific past few days. Me and dad went and sighted in his deer rifle yesterday I wasn't a big fan of the idea but he wanted to.

Congrats, What kind of broadhead if you dont mind me asking?

Funny you should ask I shoot Gold Tip Gladiators expandables broadheads & only use 2 blades (85) gr. I don't use the extra 2 bleeder blades that would make them 100 gr's. They fly just like field points and are the very best broadheads that I have ever shot.

When Gold Tip got out of the broached business in the early 1990's the owners son bought the remaining inventory to sell in his sporting good store. I contacted him trying to buy up what ever he had left, which was 500 packs of 3 per pack for what he had in them at a $1.75 a pack. I sold all but 50 pack. These 50 packs were going to be my stash for the rest of my life, I'm down to 38 packs now. Most deer I shoot only go 50 yards or less.
