Blessings great and small

Headed out to set a few traps for what may be the only time this year. Probably only 4 x 110 and a DP and it's going to dump Niagara falls on us tonight lol... having said that I am thankful for the opportunity and that I get to drag my bratty kids along
It is basically a miracle that we are even alive and my good fortune to live somewhere that trapping is even an option.

We'll, we got in 6 110 conibears, 2 #1 single longs, 4 dps and a #4cs for beaver.
Took all day with my "helpers" tagging along LOL

I sure did wear 'em out though. At one point my daughter said "Slow down daddy, you're walking too fast for our little legs to keep up!" LOL

First trap! My daughter called him a "big fat chungus" lol. All I know was carrying him up a 10' near vertical levy was no fun. Front foot catch, as intended

Nice. That's the most enjoyable thing for me as well, is to take the kids along with me. I believe my 7 yr old could pit his on set in now except for actually setting the trap. Good to see real dads

Too quickly! Oh wait. I meant it's the grandkids that grow up too quickly.

On walkabout with my daughter, we spied these 2 fighting and decided to take the starch out of their shorts.
Very fortunate to share these moments with my kids, I had no such luck growing up as my dad had given up hunting by the time I was 3

Did I miss something earlier in the year in regards to your "its basically a miracle we're alive" (house fire, car accident?)?

Hey NonPCfed, we had a catastrophic house fire. The miracle is that we were in the middle of selling the house, and by chance we had decided to stay with family that night. House was struck by lightning and was fully involved within minutes. Fire department responded in 9 minutes and house was a loss.

Life truly is a gift, you don't realize what you have until you lose it. I appreciate your positive attitude, this is something I need more of. Slydogx.
