NTA scam - 11/01/19 03:02 PM

Got a email from the NTA stating someone got a hold of nta lifetime members and are asking for 300 bucks to upgrade to benefactor membership. It’s a scam ,NTA says it’s not them and they’re working on finding out who it is

URGENT!!!

“The NTA has been asked to spread the word about a Lifetime Upgrade Scam. Lifetime members are receiving phone calls stating that they can upgrade their Lifetime Membership to a Benefactor Membership for a low payment of $300. The woman states that she is from the Headquarters Office and that the only payment they accept is a credit card. THIS IS NOT THE NTA BUSINESS OFFICE. We are working with our IT Expert to take care of the situation as soon as possible. Please know that the NTA Business Office will never contact you in regards to upgrading Lifetime Memberships. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your understanding and your support of the National Trappers Association.

Sincerely,

John Daniel, NTA President.”

Isn't the life membership list more or less public knowledge if anyone spends anytime putting it all together?

Yeah, but you are probably so high on the donor list that they know that you couldn't move up.

I wouldn't think it would/should be public knowledge.

Scammers are focusing on Associations for their scams. They send emails tat appear to be from the president asking board members to pick up money cards. They use Association web info to find their targets
