Got my archery buck!

Its been a couple of years, but I finally got a shot at a nice one. It's my biggest buck so far. I heard him(I think) grunt about 60 yards from me in some thick cover. I grunted a few times and waited twenty minutes and nothing happened. I then did 5-6 doe bleats and he came walking in ten minutes later. Happened fast 27-yard shot. I was a little worried about the shot placement because a lot of my arrow was still sticking out of him, but the arrow had gone through him and stopped in the opposite side. The arrow broke ribs on both sides, but I'm kind of surprised that drawing 60lbs and shooting a fixed blade slick trick, that it didn't make it through him. Anyway, exciting hunt!

I wouldn't worry too much about the arrow not passing through. It happens every once in a while with a shot that seems identical to ones that have easily passed through on other deer. It looks like you placed that arrow perfectly and there little doubt shots like that one are quickly lethal. Way to go!

Way to go. As others stated, if hit a rib square it might not pass through. But it will do all the same damage to the goodies.
