What will this buck score?

Not mine and a big old boy but I thought it may be fun to see what everyone thinks it will score. For reference, that is a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper next to it.

Gonna have some great mass measurements but probably not a real high net number otherwise. I happen to love massy, palmated dark racks like that and actually collect some that I like. I sure like that one!

It is impressive to hold in your hand. TONS of character. Take in 46 or 48 if I remember right with a Marlin 32-40.

Hard to say without actually seeing it- 170's to 180's would be my guess.

So anything over 160 and you are throwing them out ?

That must have been quite a branch to impede it in velvet to have those 2 stubs go out the side.

I can't wait for the answer. I will bet that it will exceed my expectations. Regardless of what it scores, I'll bet it is so heavy that it is uncomfortable to hold up with your arms extended in short order.
It is awesome to have one like that not attached to a shoulder mount.
I have a dandy mounted on the wall, but I miss having the opportunity to hold it in my hands.
I don't have them mounted anymore just for that reason. I have a few that some folks ask me why I didn't get them mounted. I tell them to pick one of them up. When they do, they just smile and nod.

What will it score? = As much as two of my bucks combined.

Any one within 3" of the gross score yet.

The closest guess so far is off by roughly 15 inches.

My guess is 154 gross. I don't see it being as high as previous guess but i really dont know how to adjust for the incredible mass it has.

All you have to do is dig up the hole that they plant me in. That's where it will be. Try not to disturb the worms as they are feeding though.

Location?

The quilt stand. NE corner of the property. I am sure for a Model 70 Super Grade or Two Logan will show you the way and even help you dig me up.

It reminded me a lot of one that I have at home with double "whistlers" and great mass on the tines. It is not nearly as cool as yours but I find it interesting. Yours would look nice next to it.

I would climb over a pile of 180's to get yours. Beautiful rack, congrats.

Any way you look at it, this rack of antlers is a unique trophy with it's incredible mass.

Lots of side to side deductions and subtraction of abnormal points to arrive at it's NET Score.

It was no doubt carried by a brute of a northern boreal forest whitetail.

It's what Alberta outfitters would refer to as a "Gagger" or a "Klunker".

It proves my earlier point in the "Security camera buck" thread that people tend

to over estimate the score of a rack by a lot.

I'll freely admit that I was so overwhelmed by the mass of this rack

that my mind couldn't compute a coherent score so I didn't venture a guess.

I know I'd go to into instant hyper-ventilation if I saw that rack coming at me in the woods.

Walleyed I have slept since then but I thought your biggest peave was the AGE of the deer not the score of the antlers.( "security camera buck") Correct me if I'm wrong but you thought that deer was 2 1/2 . That was what some said you were wrong about.. Could have been another "expert" on here as they are several of us reading this LOL.....

But most people over shoot the scores on deer . That you are correct about

Yes beautiful rack. But after people see what a deer really scores they realize it takes a BIG deer to surpass the 140 inch mark.

I said it didn't score in at 160" Net, and that It wasn't a old deer.

You thought It was older than I did.

We still don't know whose right as nobody has the deer's rack in their hands to score it yet.

Here's hoping snowy performs a mercy killing and we get that old geezer ("security camera buck")

on a scale, and a tape on his antlers, and we might as well get a wildlife biologist

to age his jawbone by tooth wear so we can put the mystery to rest.

BTW, don't you have some BIG 10 Fans to torment ?
