Haven’t seen anyone start one of these this season
So I thought I would. Let’s see those pictures

Last Monday, first day catch. It snowed the night before. Big male in a old#2 Monty dogless, base plate-D ring, 4 coiled. He still bent one jaw.
I've caught 5 more since then, 4 yesterday, but the camera battery needing charging. Maybe more in a few days.

Here's a few to get it off and running,from almost Canada.

You ain't got pics of me

Of the 5 in the last 2 days, 3 were caught in Montgomery dogless #3's. Yoteguts used to put up pics showing the typical foot placement on the pan.
Here's another. Just about every one caught looks like this.

Few years back, but still one of my favorite pictures ive taken of a trapped coyote.

Pawnee me too! I’ve caught three at that location so far this year and that stackyard has been a slam dunk for coyotes every year. The rancher loves when I get after em there too, his calving pens happen to be right next to it

First catch of the season this morning.

I got this nice stinker this morning. It’s been a while since I’ve got one with this much white on it.




I didn’t think I got any stink on me but my bride apparently has a better nose than me.

My boys set a dozen dogproofs all on their own tor a few weeks, caught 21 so far. I told them they catch them and i'll skin them. They also help on the coyote line. The oldest boy has an otter tag so i guess i'll try my luck at water trapping, that's all new to me.....

Thanks, its so much fun with them out there. They had a few coon sets tucked in, and if they looked hard while passing on the school bus they could see it they had a catch or not. I'll never forget the look on their faces as they ran down the driveway that first afternoon and had seen a big fat coon in the trap. This was my oldest boys halloween costume, I think he's hooked......

That is about as wet as I plan on getting this year. Needed some bait meat. might do spring beaver because it is only thing open then.

2nd one out of this pasture. i hope they are the only 2. i really hate mange. not even coyotes ought to end up like the one in this old photo



this one is better. bought a pair of these sleepycreek longsprings from marty 4-5 years ago to use in rocks or places where bedding is an issue. was showing my just turned 8year old grandson how to make a set with them on saturday. this guy showed up yesterday. he was in school but liked the photo



took 20 minutes to get all the cockle burrs picked out. was decent after though. need to go out now and turn skins but think i will drink some more coffee first BTW cockle burrs in KS are not burdock. cockle burrs are hard things not soft like burdock. real pain to deal with. you have to pull fur and hair away from each one by hand. try combing them out and you get bald spots.

Only got out 8 sets on Sunday. 7 pipe dream (sort of) one dirt hole

Color differences from the same areas never cease to amaze me.

Caught this nice female today on a set that was out November 1st. I left it alone because it snowed right after. That is US 127 just north of the M55 exit. Was going to pull the set yesterday. Glad I was running late.

Cool color on your trap grapestomper, you paint them?

I started two years ago just doing rustoleum type paint.
Seems to work good.
I have some painted snow color and some this green and brown color.
I don't seem to have any issue with smell by doing this. I let them hang about a month before i use them.

Not a great photographer, but we're off to a decent start. Two down eight to go.

Finally had time to make some sets last night on corn bags. They have been tearing the bags up like I’ve never seen. Went 8 for 8 in one gang set. Can’t wait to get done with them and on to some yotes. Took 15 and let 5 go

I didn’t have my phone so no pic but I did catch a 37 pound coon today biggest one for me
