Petska Deer Hide Program

Years ago Petska used to trade skins for gloves. Is that still something they do?

Groney video shows them trading one pair per hide.

are they worth it? I have a pile of skins. my normal buyer recently passed.

The live Facebook video showed two hides for one pair. Not sure what they do for one hide....maybe your choice a left or a right hand glove...

On the video that GFW had I must have mis-heard at I thought the were trading two hides per pair of gloves this season. We have had the glove deal going on around here for several seasons now. At least it is one way to use the leather.

Deer hide market still difficult...we will still trade gloves but in most cases will have to be at least two deer hides for a pair of gloves as opposed to a one for one trade as it’s been in the past. Tariff and tannery issues still a problem. Some of us will be carrying dollar bills if you'd rather go that route.

If Groeny is a guaranteed two pairs per hide, I will definitely just go that route.

You so right I seen that in the video . I was to say what so someone will get rip off when only bring one hide to them. My buyer is one hide one set of gloves .

I don't know bout where yall live but a pair of deerskin gloves..the. kind ya use fixin fence..yellow..unlined.....that last forever...sell for 15.00 bucks a pair.....all day long


the same as 7.50 a hide aint nothing to sneeze at... but I wonder what id do with 150 pairs of gloves?

What is the wholesale price of No.1 factory dressed deer leather in the US?
Here it sells retail for $6.50 to $9.00 per sq ft usd.

My guess is you get cow hide gloves for a deerhide --not deerskin gloves. I sell both and there is a big difference in price.

I bet that is sadly the truth.

They're setting themselves up for being sued if that's true. Their website says.....high quality deer skin gloves.

I didn't read their web site,and said it was my guess.The reason I said that,is that deer hide buyers here--trade with cowhide gloves,not deerskin.
If you are getting deerskin gloves for a deer hide--you are getting a very good deal.

I only ever had one pair of deer skin gloves and they were good gloves.

Groeny also states deer skin gloves.

Not all deer skin gloves are created equal.

A petska rep gave me a pair of deerskin gloves when I sold fur to him, for having all my fur put up perfectly. They are of amazing quality, so comfy and warm. If a deerskin goes for $2 and you trade 2 of them for a pair of those gloves you’re getting an awesome deal.

The deer hide mkt goes up and down just like fur, oil, corn etc.


Right now raw deer hides will barely pay for the labor, and logistics it takes to collect them.


They're just like firewood, every time you touch them you're losing money on them.



I applaud the country fur buyers still offering gloves or cash for deer hides.

The gloves offered are Not deerskinned gloves. Not even close
