Buckle up. Goos tide turning?

Buckle up. Goos tide turning? - 12/02/19 01:55 PM

As goes Manhattan so goes the country. I've seen this over 25 years there like clockwork. If I were in the clothing business I would have made billions from retail. It's right there, every day, then it goes West.

As Bill Cosby once said, "I brought you in this world, I can take you out."

I still say the answer is strong conservation "propaganda" to let the kids know it's the best option, not the worst.

Most interviewed are gay or vegan or both, a little biased maybe.

Yes, and these are the current "trendsetters" (gulp) in NYC, which become the trendsetters in America. All under the guise of "be nice, be nice, everyone gets the same stuff, there is no more individual" theory.

It's wrong of course; my perception thus far: the "artsy fartsys" (now in the incarnation of SJW, but previously just apolitical artist-types) of NYC are the reason one's 12 year old daughter in Iowa demands "Whatever Thing" 1-2 years from now.

That's just propaganda.

But what are they scooping up? I see no fur on their newest Branta line unless I missed it somewhere. But when their stock prices drops back below $25 US I'll be interested again

Bought my son one 3 years ago. Still wears it. The zipper still works, no rips or tears. His younger sis will get it next year. I reckon it will be in good shape when she outgrows it. Then resell it. Sure it’s pricey up front but in the long I’m money ahead.

You're being charitable laugh I think a reasonable price is closer to 13$ based on their earnings.

Also, a third of shares outstanding have been sold short. That isn't a real vote of confidence either.

Bottomline is more people than ever are buying the CG coats.

You don't know that. What MIGHT be happening is that GOOS is selling more coats into the wholesale channels OR raising their prices on certain coats. Either of those things could increase their revenue. It says nothing about individual consumers buying coats

I hate the retail world in general and clothes/fashion is so fickle its makes me even more nervous. My gut says they are somewhat in tune with trying to be the fashion trendsetter and that's why they're making a push for new lines with substantial price tags even by their own standards. I am positive that there wont be a long term market to sell fur trimmed coats to the masses by them though. Thats the version of taking fashion/fur from luxury status to ordinary status and that sure hasnt panned out for ranch fur.

I agree !!! Way too fickle for my money ! At least they are having a good day today.

The Hong Kong protests are really killing GOOS in terms of trying to break into the Chinese market. They have opened a lot of new stores and those expenses are hurting them.

At least it's the Christmas season and that might help them temporarily
