Fox in a cage. - 12/03/19 12:42 AM
Got a fox in a cage today. I have heard a million time how fox won't go into a 14 x 14 cage. Well, this one did.
The funny thing is, it had a mangled front paw. It looked like it had been that way for a while. And it stunk.
Any idea how a fox, completely healthy could have had that happen? No trappers in the area. Except for my coon cages.

Could have gotten in a fight earlier with another animal, damaged the paw.
You didnt say what it stunk like? Possibly infection?

I regularly catch greys in cages but never a red. I have had reds start coming behind the garage and eating out of the fleshing pails. I let me go for a week or so and then stick a 220 in the bucket.

Get a few reds in cages along with the rare yote no Grey's here.

Good job. What were you using for bait?
I have caught a not so grand total of 1 red fox in a cage trap. I caught it with Pounce Cat Treats in heavy rain, in my Mom's back yard.
