Possibly good news NAFA

Possibly good news NAFA - 12/05/19 12:32 AM

Heard last night at the monthly trappers meeting that there is a possibility that NAFA held trappers fur will be sold in March and trappers will be paid. Good news if it happens.

This is the result of NAFA winning a lawsuit arguing that the trappers fur belongs to the trappers and shouldn't be used to pay claims against NAFA.

Who / what was the source of this information? Should be able to find that lawsuit and the results if it true.

They're in the same line as all the other unsecured creditors.

Re: Possibly good news NAFA - 12/05/19 10:17 PM

The funds will run through the bankruptcy judge/officer. NAFA won’t receive any funds.

I really doubt there was a NAFA lawsuit for the decision. NAFA holds the furs on consignment and has no rights to the proceeds except for fees. NAFA probably asked the bankruptcy judge/officer to be allowed to have an auction versus spending money to ship by furs. The officer will release funds to fur owners. NAFA’s fees will go to creditors.

Because Boco has never been the first in line. That's why he's going to leave early to meet the truck. grin
