A Gentleman in a Small Town

A Gentleman in a Small Town - 12/14/19 01:04 PM

Couple days ago we had freezing rain here in the banana belt of Wisconsin. I was driving slowly through town and had to come to a stop to allow pedestrians to cross the road.

The older fella led the way, sprinkling salt down as he crept from one side to the other. Right behind him shuffled two gals hanging on to each other, all three headed for the Unique Cafe across the street for lunch. Drivers in vehicles waited patiently, nobody honked.

A quiet moment to reflect on the important things in life. Like getting across the street safely.

Merry Christmas all.

That is why I live in a small town, no stop light, and no fast food. Thanks for posting!

Good story, thanks for posting. I have always lived in the country but near a small town, wouldn't want it any different.

Tough time of the year with the ice and snow but especially tough for our elderly! Thanks for sharing!

Can’t beat those blueberry pancakes at the Unique Cafe! Great to know there are still ‘normal’ people in our world today!

he knows one of the fastest way to end up in the grave as an old lady is a broken hip and it only takes one fall.

we didn't get that freezing rain here at he southern edge of the state but my wife found it when she got to the work meeting she had to attend about 40 miles north yesterday morning roads had been good , she hit the parking lot drive way it was sheet of ice and off into the grass she went.

There are many great people in this country! I have met a bunch of them. They just don't make the news.
