41 is a great round. I have had a few different wheel guns in 41 over the years.

It will be excellent for that, deer, black bear, antelope etc,out to 100 yds if you can shoot it well.

I've carried a .41 for many years. Killed a nice moose, caribou, couple black bears and a Dall sheep, along with a surly grizzly. Really like the caliber.

Bought a 41mag pistol last fall , haven't fired it yet. Rounds are a little scarce and pricey for it.

Never had a 41 but my dad has a contender and loves it. He has 8 or so barrels for it.

I have one in a wheel gun. I don’t think you can go wrong pairing a contender and a 41 Mag. With the Hornady Leverevolution you will be surprised at the range and accuracy you can get.

Agreed!
my 41 mag revolvers have taken 2 elk, 2 mule deer, over 40 whitetails, and 2 black bears since '83...the "field" model wears a 2x Burris (if shots could be 100 yds-ish) and the "brush" model has open sights, for in the thick stuff.
I also shot one in Big Bore Handgun Silhouette matches from '83-'89 with open sights out to 200 meters.

I have one in a Henry Big Boy carbine. I love to shoot it and used it on a few deer and a bear. Ammo can be hard to find at the big box stores, but other than that its not bad. If you can get it at a good price, I would. They make some pretty heavy loads for it, if that is want you want. I like Federal vital shok out of mine.
Hoping to buy a Ruger Blackhawk bisley in 41 mag.

Ive got several 41 mags. I started with a Blackhawk a fellow used for cowboy shooting competions with 41 specials(he had actual headstamped cases that came with it). The second one was a smith 657. My third is a Henry Big Boy rifle. I handload everything I shoot so ammo availability is no problem at all.

Here's mine haven't shot it yet. Where do you guys get your ammo for the 41 mag?

Re: 41 magnum - 12/28/19 01:13 AM
I believe Buford Pusser (Walk and Tall) carried a 41 magnum.
I haven't owned one, but for the distance you are looking at, I would think it would work nicely.

Well I dropped the money on it i figure it is worth the 250 he was asking he said that’s more then the gun shop was offering

Re: 41 magnum - 12/28/19 02:35 AM
At 250 ya got a great deal. Happy blasting plugs or muffs or both your ears will thank you.

Owned one for a few minutes. Found it in the woods. Gave it back to the drunk that lost it. Smith & Wesson revolver, chrome or nickel I think.
Bought a super Redhawk hunter at an amazing price.

At $250 you paid for the barrel, not the gun.
You got a deal. good job.
