Dinning Room Table....Crap!

The other day wife says to me "You need to get your crap off the dinning room table, it's almost Christmas." eeeeehh...Well! I was of course immediately offended.
Crap?
Crap?
It's Not Crap?
It is maybe a little in disarray not positioned on the table in a way some one with OCD would place it..But Crap?
I think of it more as highly technical equipment assembled in a fashion suited for foraging
How could she call it Crap?
If ya want to talk about crap it's all the stuff she calls "Home Decor." Now there is some stuff I call crap..no function at all just there.
So anyway I guess I move my things back to the basement work bench.. Now there is a place with to much Crap..why I had my items on the dinning room table.
So what say all of you? would your wife allow your crap on dinning room table?

My wife always says we need to have a sale and get rid of all this "stuff"! They just don't get it!

My coffee table in the living room. I'm single so nobody to complain. I have several hobbies that seem to create clutter.

Well one mans Crap is another mans Treasure or so he thinks I fault the diy channels why spend all that dough on remodeling turning half the house into closets and storage when you already have a table and chairs already Perfect places to lodge stuff that your gonna use In a Minute or Right Away or at least In a Little While
Plus its all concentrated so you know Its Gotta Be There

I knew it looked familiar... I have to admit that I had straightened up before adding the last coat of cement to an Adams.

I am pretty sure every inch of horizontal surface in our house is occupied with antique decoys, tools, outdoor magazines, more antiques, and projects in varied states of completion. Hard to find a spot for my coffee cup sometimes. I have a wonderful and understanding wife that has moved closer to my line of thought as I have gotten older and wiser... "It they don't like the way we live, they don't have to come here!"

Me: “Don’t be ridiculous. “

Wife: “Well you tried that once before. “

Me: “ That was 30 years ago! I’m going to brush paint it. “

Wife: *Gives me “the look” while tapping her foot.* “Why don’t you do it in your shop? “

Me: “I don’t want to have to heat the shop overnight for such a small project. I’ll have everything out of here tomorrow morning. “

I interpret her silence as approval and move forward with the project.

One of my Sisters came over a while back and when she walked in she goes what the heck brother, it smells like a pickle factory in here. I started laughing cause I had a lantern in a bucket of vinegar/ water with a towel over it. Then she looked at my kitchen table and said is this a kitchen or a workshop, I said both.

Man up and tell her who's boss In the house. That well settle your problem.

I don't see any crap myself personally. There has been a 50 round box each of 308, 338 WM, 6.5 Grendel, 44 Special, 300 WM, and three 5 round boxes plus a couple extra 12 ga slugs. Two pairs of shooting gloves, a pile of hand warmers, and a knit watch cap. It's all been sitting there, getting used when appropriate and replaced when not needed since the middle of November. It will get put away before the table is set for Christmas eve dinner. Nobody has said a word and my wife is a neat and clean freak. After Christmas it gets replaced with a couple boxes of 12 and 20 ga number 5's, gloves and hat.

No workshop man cave? I don't want to be in the house when serious projects like that are undertaken. I park next to my shop and build a fire in the stove every night when I get out of the truck from work. Takes the chill off, 3 of 5 nights I go back out and fiddle, skin, tie a fly or repaid a gun. Sure don't want women distractions like her binge watching Netflix. Sometimes not often I can be baited into the house for a game of hide and seek....

Ours is too pretty to pile down with stuff.

rendezvous I'm just tying simple streamers not sure I got attention span for detailed work your doing..

Lugnut I might be able to pull that one off between holidays, but would probably use red paint

Danny My work bench looks very similar to yours is why I brought the fly box up to table..


I did clear table all off took all fuzzy things back down stairs.. Turned around dragged out the griddles made batch lefse. So now got clean up the mess made doing that..dinning room table?? maybe on the holiday it self.. work station rest the days.

Either way there will be room on the table this evening to eat Christmas meatballs and lefse..
