Beaver trap display

Beaver trap display - 01/09/20 03:52 PM

I made this three or four months ago and wanted to give it a trial run on the wall. It's not where it will be for a permanent display but I was wanting to see what it would look like. I think it will work.

Took all of the material off a local beaver dam. Even have a Newhouse #4 beaver trap on there.

I'm really glad you guys like it. I took a short log the beaver left behind and split it in half lengthways on my mill and had the Amish bore the holes and dowel the sticks. Just need to get a longer stick to add more traps to the display.

A Newhouse # 4 and 5 along with a hand forged.

First time I ever had a post make me cringe. I'd better rethink this.

Myself, I'm a Newhouse guy. I started binge watching Jeremiah Johnson after someone brought up a post on it the other night and I'm afraid I discovered a historical inaccuracy in the movie. It's near the beginning of the movie and it involves a trap he was using. Maybe someone else caught it as well.
