High desert reds and river bank coyotes.

High desert reds and river bank coyotes. - 01/17/20 05:11 AM

Thought I'd do a picture story of our season in SW Idaho. We trapped from the Snake River to the Nevada border. Not all at once but moved around some and kept three lines going so we were checking traps every day.

The foxes cooperated right away in the high country near Nevada. A few coyotes showed up too.

Porkies matter too.

Too many beavers around not to set a 330 somewhere. Almost 60 pounds.
[Linked Image]

Got a mink!
[Linked Image]

And then two mink! These were all bonus catches on rat floats.
[Linked Image]

First cross fox I've seen in the sage brush.

Those are some awesome pics!!! I’m wondering if you do anything with the quills? I’m trying to find some for beadwork on my buckskin and such but we don’t have them over here. Do the hides have any value? Thanks. smile

I have never saved the quills just the hair. There is a market for the quills and you can get them as well has whole hides at https://www.hideandfur.com/.
