Commercial Pike fisherman??

I was just in the local Russian grocery store today and I noticed they have frozen headed and gutted pike (shooka) for $6 a pound. I am wondering where it's coming from. Do they commercial fish for pike anywhere in the midwest? If so what do the fishermen get for it there.

Sounds about right. They are getting 60 cents a pound off the ice in Manitoba.
That's why they usually get left unfortunately.
The heads are needed to make a dish with them boiled and it turns to jelly dish....a meal usually served on Malanka (Russian New Years ) the size 3-4 pounder just right
