It says fake fur but I am thinking knitted beaver, only one I can find in a short search, was looking at winter hats.

Difficult to tell from the pictures but I’m thinking it might be some sort of sheep from the Middle East. Some of them have short curly wool.
Karakul is one name. Persian lamb is another. Google names like that are you will find pictures of the fur / wool.

Wissmiss is correct.
Karakul is the fur from the Persian lamb.The younger the lamb the tighter the curls(more valuable).
