Had a couple frustrating days ... - 01/27/20 04:34 AM

I have one of the counter size 8 ounces popcorn popper and eat 2 or 3 meals a week for it. Went to turn it on thurs evening all set for some corn... just as put the rocker switch to turn it on... it wen POW! no Corn... Had to eat salami and cheese sandwich. I didn't figure out it would be any problem finding a new switch. I started Friday morning running around trying to find a replacement. I roan around about half the town, and no one carried them anymore. SO Friday night Dinty Moore chicken and dumpling. Started sat. and found one similar at a farm store, the man guaranteed me it was what I needed. Took it home connected it, plugged it in and POW.... blew another one. STARTED MORE RUNNING.... couldn't find one. I check in total 12 stores. All stores used to carry these simple little devils. Half of them didn't even know what I was talking about a "Rocker Switch"???????

So, when I got home sat. evening I called my cousin in Illinois and he told they had all kinds of them on Amazon. He said his wife was getting ready to send it an order. for me to find what I needed and send him the url. I checked out Amazon and found when I needed and sent him the info. He called me about an hour later and said to be home Sunday that it would be delivered sometime today. I thought I would keep a watch in case some neighbor had sticky fingers. I went to look out at 9:45 AM and the darn thing had already had it there. I had paid over $8.00 for the one replaced that blew and these I got for 8 of them for $8.95 cents. So I am fixed in case that swith or one of the other 2 blows.

I don't know where they shipped it from, but it sure got here quick and no postage. I spent 6 or 7 hrs. 55miles hunting one. A replacement from the company I bought the popper from wanted $19.95 for the switch and $9.95 for the part and would take 3 to 5 day to get it.

I hope you can make your popper work right again.

It's amazing how Amazon can ship and deliver things so quickly. We ordered 3 items at around 2:30am on Sunday and had them the next morning 6 hours later. They even shipped from 3 different facilities. It does not seem physically possible.

The only problem with Amazon is the guy that owns it.

That is wild. I think Amazon is slowing down here. I ordered something on Sunday got it yesterday. The last few times same thing. Slow delivery on the last few purchases. Yet everyday I see amazon semi's driving all over town, amazon vans and and the various mail carriers.

You eat popcorn for a "meal"? You must be single.

I'd've twisted the switch wires together and plugged it in wall til it was done and then unplugged it.
A man should not be denied his popcorn!

Pretty simple to put a layer of popcorn in the bottom of a pan, add just enough oil so they're all in it, cover and heat until the popping stops. Then add butter, salt, whatever.

You must be livin a charmed life if a plastic rocker switch is your biggest problem over the last two days. I'da went to the drawer, got a wire nut, put the switch in the drawer.

I don't find many people in those places that have any clue what they are talking about. They probably walked right by them 100 times a day.
