I had a tractor with a loader on it and used it putting up hay, hauling round bales feeding and moving snow. I sold it and got a skid steer, I pay a guy to put up my hay. I can do so much more with the skid steer. I have forks I move round bail with and just slide under them. I can put round bales in the pole barn now, snow moves way better with a blower on the skid steer than a bucket on a tractor. I wish I would have swapped out sooner.

Have skidloader and 4 tractors use the skid most ,Cant afford to fix a tractor anymore

Nice! I could use that all day long. Keep your eyes out for a backhoe attachment for it and you'll really love it.

I know ...but. the skidsteers of any worth were out of mt price range

Little did I know Id spend $1,480.00 more to repair the issue the Seller knew about but neglected to disclose to me.

Thanks for telling me what kind it is. My curiosity was killing me. I like a 4x4 loader tractor.

What was the issue in need of repair?

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 01:28 AM

I dont think you can get rid the Bosch and change to a more common type, but if its rebuilt now it should give you a lot of trouble free days of work, one thing with that begin a hydrostat you may need ear protection, if its like the 656 hydro it will whine when its cold.

Main reason was seals in the Fuel injector pump were blown

Fuel and oil all mixed in the system

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 01:50 AM

Thanks for the pictures. I like seeing other people's tractors.

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 01:52 AM

I bet your tractor is quieter than a Massey- Ferguson 274. When you hit the throttle everything seems to scream even with ear plugs.

The fuel injector rebuild kit was on backorder Bosch of Germany

Thanks for sharing, browndusti. There's more tractor lovers on trapperman than I thought. We've been having problems with the brakes sticking on our 274.

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 02:56 AM

Back in the days when machines where made to last, no stupid emissions control devices or plastic parts....big difference in a 60 HP tractor back then compared to modern ....

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 03:01 AM

That 274 is definitely my favorite tractor. My brother gets to run it most of the time. Family farm.

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 03:15 AM

I think ours is rated @ 55 hp but it feels like 60 hp.

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 03:34 AM

I grew up on the fender of it, wore that red paint off.... felt like 100 HP when you sit down in the seat as a youngster....the fun of being a farm kid

Re: Loader coming home! - 02/01/20 12:41 PM

Nice tractor. As others have said, keep your eye out for a decent back hoe.

I have a Kubota L35 for about fifteen years now. It's got a back hoe with a two-foot bucket and can dig to nine feet.

The Bota is probably the most useful machine I own. Digging stumps, hauling firewood, plowing snow...I extended my driveway more than 300' with it, had to hog out almost 12" of topsoil, then spread many tons of big (AASHTO#4) goonies and many more tons of 2A mod.

I use it n the job quite a bit also. I can load my 10-ton dump with it but just barely. Next one will be a bit bigger.

I'm sure you'll get lots of use out of yours.
