Will mink/weasels climb?

I know where there’s a will, there’s a way.... that being said, Will mink climb vertically to get to poultry? Like climb poultry netting several feet to get to poultry?

Yes they are good climbers

Not sure but I caught a fair amount of mink In elevated marten boxes.

I don't know about climbing poultry netting. But, they will definitely climb trees.
Years ago, we raised mink. Sometimes one would get out. It wasn't uncommon to find them up a tree.

not sure how great of climbers they are but my dog regularly trees mink. guess when you weigh 1-2# and there's a 75# monster trying to eat you that might provide motivation.

We used to live right next to a beaver dam. We watched a mink climb into the two blue spruces in our yard on two different occasions. There was a bird feeder between the trees and lots of birds flushed when he started up the tree.

Weasels are great climbers,mink will climb but not as good a climber as a weasel.

I good friend of mine watched a buck mink climb 12 feet up the trunk of a white oak, enter a squirrel hole and come down with a mature gray squirrel....Must have been a battle inside the tree!!

I can tell you weasel are great climbers.

I have a old summer kitchen that I turned into a tool shed. I have a pair of weasels living in it, they have a nest up in the rafters. I've seen them climb just as good as a squirrel, but faster.

Yes, weasels climb very well and are often caught in elevated marten/fisher sets and occasionally in snares on squirrel poles. Mink occasionally in marten/fisher sets.

Have witnessed one climb a tree and come back down. Took me several minutes to process what I had seen because I was not expecting to see a mink climb a tree.

I have seen mink in trees several times. Rather nimble, they were.

Believe me when I tell you mink will climb wire and they will escape!
