Heading to Rochester, NY Friday to pick up some drums for maple sap storage, hope to do some ice fishing with my little brother. They have been fishing Chautauqua Lake here for a bit now but I don't like fishing in that cesspool.

Their driving pick up trucks on the lake here and still running boats on the river.. Usually the landings are frozen in and most are. but is a couple still can back the trailer in knock ice out..Little sporty and you for sure need chains or 4 wheel. But if your not total dummy can still get boat in..Not enough ice this year for me to take my truck on ice. Quad yep..

I wanted to take the kids ice fishing for the first time this winter but we haven't had good ice and it doesn't look like we will get it here.

I cant quite set still enough to ice fish, yet I'll do it, evenings usually or mornings, just long enough to catch a meal. Catch and release in deeper water should be outlawed, IMO.

I like to jig out of one hole so I don't get bored

The ice here is a couple of inches thick at best...just enough to make every offering a top water presentation for sure......I wouldn't recommend walking onto it though.
We got that global warming thing here so I'm blaming it all on Algore....

They had a tournament on Howard Eaton in Northeast last week. I would imagine the ice is still good. I didn't get my stuff out this year
