It's fun watching a bunch of Second Amendment and freedom haters tear each other apart.

For instance, when steyer said he was the only one who truly supports reparations for slavery, all the democratic presidential candidates started screaming that it was their idea, writhing and twisting around in anger, it was very entertaining, unfortunately the moderators quickly cut to commercial.

The American Phycological Association has a good deal published on the techniques used to control a conversation so that one's own view prevails.
Years ago, I was on a high school debate team and we learned that to control the conversation >>>>> ask questions. When they answer one >>>>>> ask 'em another one

APA techniques include;

When others ask you something, do not feel obliged to answer the question. You can, for example:

Ignore the question and carry on regardless.
Ask a question in return.
Tell them that you will answer the question soon, but need to explain something first.
Answer the question that you wanted to answer.
Ask them why they are asking you the question.
Ask them to clarify what they mean.

Just funnin' with ya James. Keep 'em coming. You always do bro.

Civilian look-alikes of military weapons are not the same as military weapons. I've fired most all the military weapons that were available before 1992, and most all had a select button for full auto. The look-alikes don't have that button. They function the same as say the Winchester model 100 rifle and other such hunting rifles. Pull the trigger, they fire once, pull the trigger, they fire again ect, etc. They don't look scary like the military look-alikes, but function the same way.

I am more than tired of attempts to marginalize my position on my right to be armed. He where I live I am not in the minority. If I am at all. If I am in the minority its because of people in only a few counties nationwide. Counties where people can not exist without people like me. We can exist without them just fine. Might need to redraw some borders. Could eliminate all tax except export tax's. Let them foot the bill. See what they think of me and my neighbors then.

The people who are for gun control are predominantly, if not entirely in the cities. The same goes for democrats. The democrats of today share very little ideology with the more mainstream democrats of the past. The extreme leftist fringe part of the democrat party has gained control of the democrat party as clearly evidenced by socialist bernie being their strong presidential forerunner.

I think if the democrats are soundly defeated in this next presidential election and upcoming congressional races, they will at least on the face start espousing more centrist views again.

Hello Minka....

Things are ramping up it seems, every where. Even in the beautiful state of Alaska. Look at the items posted in the Wilderness Forum....

Join the military? OK, I did just that and I served 8 years of my life so you people can be afraid to defend yourselves in the face of WHATEVER comes atcha!

I EARNED MY RIGHT, which I didn't have to do I voluteered, already and I still have to put up with crap like this.

What is it about SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED that people don't get?......EVERY ONE OF YOU ARE MILITIA regardless of if you like it or not (unless you have a physical or mental disability in which case you can cook or at least mop up)

Not that most will even consider serving for causes beyond their own ego's and bank accounts..........

You want to hide like a yellow bellied female dog then go for it, you think you will be protected by your laws and your great leaders then go for it, you think those anti depressants and whatever else it is you people are smoking are going to save your wealth, your diversified portfolio's, YOUR CHILDREN.......go for it!

BUT YOU WILL NOT DICTATE THAT TRASH TO ME.........there's a special place in each town center for dictators and tyrants.... How will you enforce your restrictions and guns laws.... OF COURSE THUGS WITH GUNS WILL DO THAT FOR YOU!

No one needs military weapons......how about this....SHUT UP AND GO HIDE! Once again we'll take of what needs done.........friggin wimps! You deserve to lick the jack boots of your overlords!

Maybe I will just vote for uncle Donald after all.........for certain NEVER IN THIS LIFETIME will I cast a blue vote....NEVER!

WHEN is someone going to start asking about about WHY these freaks come unglued, can see no value in their own lives and those of others, and kill to prove it?

Guns are a TOOL, just like any other tool......and there are plenty of tools around for sure.

One of these anti-gun, anti-freedom left-wing freaks is going to end up in a presidential election against President Donald Trump.

The left has used it's control of education and the news media to brainwash an uncomfortably large percentage of the United States' populace into supporting these liberal candidates and their ridiculous ideologies. They use the promise of free stuff as icing on the cake.

Every single freedom-loving American voter had better take this election very seriously and make sure they get off their arses and vote!

The medications are REALLY good.

So lets go for the middle ground then, I will CONSIDER putting up my arms, my weapons, AFTER all of the criminals, all of the communists and control freaks, all of the tyrants of the world here and abroad have been disarmed or preferably killed.

I'm already TOO RESTRICTED by laws and constraints that infringe my LIBERTY as it is. You want to stop all this? You want to DO SOMETHING.......arm up, man up, AND SHOOT BACK!

I told the folks at our local schools if you need protections, if you need physical security, I'll bring a group of trained AMERICAN PATRIOTS (who happen to also be community members and parents) and we'll provide it.

And I'm NOT looking for a contract or to suck cash from the taxpayer......I have a child that attends the school and I have friends who also have children in school. Told the same thing to the local sheriff and deputies....

Sheriff and deputies seemed shocked and appreciative......

Red is looking better every day....even though I don't particularly trust them either....RICH PEOPLE are not our friends. Voting for them and calling them leaders IS INSANE.

This is going to get really colorful I do believe...

Re: Gun Control - 02/26/20 12:45 PM

JT,

I can taste the passion of your position and all I can say from one who enjoys freedom and who has never served in the military of this country to protect it, is thank you. A sincere thank you. To you and all those who put it all on the line and who are never the same people after they do.

The utopian democratic socialist (people who vote for Marxism) philosophers on stage at the Democratic debate are hard to watch. You wonder, do they even care about others at all, in any productive way, or are people just chattel to be used for a greater good purpose? Human idealism.

The cultural shift in people vs. people here in this country and worldwide has in many ways reverted back to tribalism and that might work for some in some regions but since this country is overall a diverse culture, some, after ingesting the democratic socialist theology, and liking what they hear, become despisers of others. Not good.

Had a conversation here recently on campus with a lady in one of my courses asking her why is that we label with hyphenated names only in America? I'm not German-Scot-French-English American? I'm American as my home country. My ancestors came from all over and so did everybody else's really . There are no stopping points in history, as in genealogy, other than the original man and woman, unless you want to park your heritage somewhere, that allows you to A. Be proud of a heritage B. Despise others who are not of your heritage. Thus was my discussion with an "African-American" female student here. Her more recent ancestors may have been darker skinned Hittites who came from Africa, via the northern regions. But I told her, my ancestors came from there also.. That's where man and woman started. At least it is you you profess faith in Creation. We're all ancestors from the 8 who stepped off the ark. All of us.

But even though she knows, and professes to, what I was discussing with her, she couldn't tear off the A-M label that she so proudly stands upon. She's probably about my age I'd guess. Nice woman, but a product of decades of cultural and secular university higher learnings - by those who label - and who despise others in the name of utopian glory. I humbly and sincerely told her I was going to address her as a sister and not as African-America. Ahhhh, she was not particularly pleased with my logic and with my final position statement. She, and more, will go on to teach others what they "know" as truth. I hope her heart is healed at some point prior to her getting an audience.

All we can do is all we can do.

The liberal theology is one not of freedom (sorry Bernie), but of bondage in the name of freedom. Been going on a very long, long time.

asking her why is that we label with hyphenated names only in America?

One of the first to die in the war that gave us our independence was a negro. A black man. I don't have a problem with either of those descriptive terms but what he really was, was an American. A man who stood up when many were trying to hide. Calling that man an African American, instead of an American, is an insult to ALL Americans.

I really think that if we are going to solve our gang/crime problems in our inner cities we need to end programs like affirmative action, preference points for college etc. You tell people they cant do for theirselves long enough and they will believe it. Welfare and foodstamp programs reward irresponsible behavior. Kids are being fed at public schools even in the summer. I don't have a problem with feeding kids. Mom and Dad? Needs to end.

Re: Gun Control - 02/26/20 01:09 PM

Thank you Mark, and you are so very welcome. Not in arrogance or smugness, not in any tone of superiority what so ever, but in a sincere manner of fellowship, brotherhood, and camaraderie. THIS is what our country is built upon so that ALL may know and enjoy freedom and the pursuit of happiness. It is good to know that people do appreciate what's been done for them. I came back, in fact I wasn't even in the thick of things, but I've been shot at more than once and people tried to blow me up more than once too. Sadly quite a few of my fellows DID NOT. They gave their lives for this and cannot speak directly to the folks that don't know or understand. They died, they paid the ultimate price. In fact I lost friends and family for this freedom and I cannot just let it all go. I will speak up for them, I HAVE TO!

We may not have a perfect country but it is ours, we have the choice to live in LIBERTY, and I intend on keeping it that way.

I caught that as well as Klobuchar and the worn out "invest in education" tripe the left has been spewing for decades. They've used our schools to undermine the very foundation of our country. If Trump is re-elected he should immediately mothball the Dept. of Education and let the states take care of teaching our kids. Better yet, get your kids out o public school.

I wonder happened to all the voucher talk. Whatever the feds and your state pays to educate your child, would go to the school of the parents choice. Educational choices would explode. I believe that is why there was so much push back. It was a good idea then and it still is.

It is a good idea for the people , bad idea for the education unions who need every single dollar to spend as they see fit.
Wait a minute , I thought Democrats were supposed for the people ? Nope. For the people who they think they can get political favors from , not the whole people , that is the truth.

I can't watch those debates ... they make me more angry than I care to be. Those people can't take a breath without turning it into a lie

Trump will beat all comers, if Bernie wins the nomination all the normal thinking Dems. will be lost, if Bloomberg wins the way left will be lost. The Dems know this, this is about the House and the Senate.

But both Bernie and Bloomberg have a pulse, so some will vote for them anyway.

Anyone that would vote for either of those two should be or is on medication.

I caught that as well as Klobuchar and the worn out "invest in education" tripe the left has been spewing for decades. They've used our schools to undermine the very foundation of our country.

I commented to my wife that I don’t believe there’s ever been a politician who didn’t utter those words; Invest in the children, invest in education.”

What they really meant last night is, “We need even more money to continue the liberal indoctrination of our nation’s youth.

This article calls him an African American instead of an American, Read it and tell me this man wasn't an American. First and last. Had never even been to Africa.

The one question that I have is ........ Does being a politician turn a person into a lying, cheating scumbag or does a person have to be a liar, cheat and scumbag to become a politician ??

That's exactly right. One thing I noticed and Rush also mentioned on his show today was how the candidates were raising their hands like school children trying to get the moderators to acknowledge them. They're running for the most powerful position in the world and they're asking the media for permission to speak.

I commented on that to my wife also last night. I said, “They look like a bunch of great school kids trying to get the teacher to call on them.”

I heard Rush comment on that today as well. I’m taking a break from working at the rich liberals home (where I don’t listen to Conservative talk radio) while the plumbers and electricians do their rough in’s. I’m rehabbing an apartment that a 14-year tenant just moved out of and have the place to myself. I have Rush on the radio in the kitchen.

I don't call black people African Americans either, just Americans unless they came here directly from Africa themselves.
My granddad came here from Greece many years ago. I don't consider myself a Greek American. I'm just an American like everybody else.
I'm color-blind when it comes to skin color. If anybody was born here, they're Americans just like me.
If that's being racist, then bite me, I'm a cookie!

Re: Gun Control - 02/26/20 09:04 PM

I try to call people by their name, because I don't really care what color you are spray painted. An American is an American....PERIOD. If you're purple with the constitution in hand talking about freedom and liberty I'm going to listen to what you have to say. If you're talking about doing away with the bill of rights or interpreting it as you see fit for your agenda's then I will take issue with it. And those that aren't AMERICAN DO NOT HAVE AMERICA'S BEST INTERESTS IN MIND.

How we have businesses and business interests, critical dependencies, in a communist country literally sleeping with the enemy is beyond me.
