So, i was on fb of all places and been blowing this corona virus off this whole time, i still am but came around this post from someone.. read and give us your thoughts! Thanks.




From one of my FB friend: From a friend of a friend - for anyone who thinks things are blown out of proportion. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

" Hello! I am writing to you from Bergamo, Italy, at the heart of the coronavirus crisis. The news media in the US has not captured the severity of what is happening here. I am writing this post because each of you, today, not the government, not the school district, not the mayor, each individual citizen has the chance, today to take actions that will deter the Italian situation from becoming your own country’s reality. The only way to stop this virus is to limit contagion. And the only way to limit contagion is for millions of people to change their behavior today.

If you are in Europe or the US you are weeks away from where we are today in Italy.

I can hear you now. “It’s just a flu. It only affects old people with preconditions”

There are 2 reasons why Coronavirus has brought Italy to it’s knees. First it is a flu is devastating when people get really sick they need weeks of ICU – and, second, because of how fast and effectively it spreads. There is 2 week incubation period and many who have it never show symptoms.

When Prime Minister Conte announced last night that the entire country, 60 million people, would go on lock down, the line that struck me most was “there is no more time.” Because to be clear, this national lock down, is a hail mary. What he means is that if the numbers of contagion do not start to go down, the system, Italy, will collapse.

Why? Today the ICUs in Lombardy are at capacity – more than capacity. They have begun to put ICU units in the hallways. If the numbers do not go down, the growth rate of contagion tells us that there will be thousands of people who in a matter of a week? two weeks? who will need care. What will happen when there are 100, or a 1000 people who need the hospital and only a few ICU places left?

On Monday a doctor wrote in the paper that they have begun to have to decide who lives and who dies when the patients show up in the emergency room, like what is done in war. This will only get worse.

There are a finite number of drs, nurses, medical staff and they are getting the virus. They have also been working non-stop, non-stop for days and days. What happens when the drs, nurses and medical staff are simply not able to care for the patients, when they are not there?

And finally for those who say that this is just something that happens to old people, starting yesterday the hospitals are reporting that younger and younger patients – 40, 45, 18, are coming in for treatment.

You have a chance to make a difference and stop the spread in your country. Push for the entire office to work at home today, cancel birthday parties, and other gatherings, stay home as much as you can. If you have a fever, any fever, stay home. Push for school closures, now. Anything you can do to stop the spread, because it is spreading in your communities – there is a two week incubation period – and if you do these things now you can buy your medical system time.

And for those who say it is not possible to close the schools, and do all these other things, locking down Italy was beyond anyone’s imagination a week ago.

Soon you will not have a choice, so do what you can now."

Looks to me they have shut the whole country of Italy down except supermarkets and pharmacies. It looks like that's what I'm reading from legitimate news sources.

About 2 weeks to a month out from a disaster.

China is doing a good job of suppressing the truth in that country.

Many will die,but life will go on-dont be afraid of death.

could it be so low in the US because the US took immediate action and banned travel instead of waiting weeks?

It's just a flu, unless your immune system is compromised.
Or your >60 Y.O.
Then you need to take extra precautions.
Nothing crazy, just keep away from large crowds and wash your hands ect.

You're a smart guy.. The number of cases will double every 4 days if the experts are right. On the 6th it was estimated 500 to 600 cases in Seattle. Do the math . That is 32000 to 38000 by the end of the month just in Seattle. That means we will need 2500 to 3000 hospital beds by the end of the month just for virus patients. That doesn't take into account outlying areas.
I'd say that guys warning would be a good thing to heed.

Look at italy now,200 dead overnight. Truth is many places still have no testing capabilities yet.

I seen that same post on FB. A government made and released virus. Guaranteed they have a cure, because they make anti viruses when they make the virus. Just a whole bunch of crap. But their plans are working very well. They are keeping everyones attention in one direction, and raking in millions from idiots stocking up on stuff they dont need.

You think that's cute? I'm 100% serious. Its mostly taking out the old..and I've heard a couple Democrats say that we should limit healthcare to the old because they're a drain on society. I'm only seven years from sixty so there's a chance I may not even survive it.

Bruce, I agree with your math. However I think there are probably already thousands walking around that have been exposed who don't and won't ever show symptoms even though they carry the virus. We are all carrying around pathogens that have the potential to kill us if our resistance to them fails.
We will see.

Corona viruses are responsible for colds, not flu's. 30% of all common colds every year are caused by viruses in the corona family and always have been.

Current estimates are 50-80% of those infected with CV (the current novel corona virus (there have been many over the years) aka Covid-19 aka SARS-CoV-2 aka 2019-nCoV) never seek treatment beyond over the counter flu and cold meds. Yes, the very, very few who get really sick occasionally need weeks of care. Usually due to having preexisting health issues or contracting secondary illnesses, such as pneumonia. Such people always need extra care. Most with CV will never be hospitalized, much less in ICU for weeks.

CV spreads much the same as ordinary colds and flu's.

Actual incubation period is 3-5 days like most colds and flu's. This myth got started because initial symptoms tend to be so mild as to be ignored for weeks.

That is something to watch for with CV:
sneaks up on ya starting slow then building.
Most colds and flu's are sprints. CV is more of a marathon.

As a side note, it's interesting that there is a much larger panic over CV (currently between 0.7-1.7% CFR and even initially only thought to have a 3.4% CFR) than SARS (10% CFR), MERS (38% CFR) or Mediterranean corona virus (41% CFR). (CFR = Case Fatality Rate)

I thought you were young guy trying to be cute with your remark. I'm 69 and have had several friends pass this year and I guess I am a little touchy . Seems like I made a mistake.

Nope not being cute at all. Believe me when I say it. I have way too much grey in my beard to be joking. Just stating a fact that most of us are old or petrified. Most of the young are too lazy to do what we do.

My cousin in italy told me this morning he hates being inside. I told him its for their safety. He said the only good thing is he is with his baby.4 yrs old.

Worldwide nobody under 50 years old has died. Under 2,000 deaths worldwide. 40 in the United States

There are more people killed in car accidents daily than all the deaths so far due to the Corona virus. Why is it they haven't outlawed cars?

I just looked on the CDC website and found this info about the regular flu.

Starting Oct.1st until March 7th.............

Their estimates are.....
36-51 million will get sick from flu.
17-24 million will see a doctor because of flu.
370,000-670,000 will be hospitalized because of flu.
22,000-55,000 will die from the flu.


Now tell me, we're at about 40 who have died from this hoax, so why is it wall to wall news and the numbers dying from the regular flue not?
