I'm still here.

That's after you start hearing about spontaneous mass death (rapture)! But, I'd have to say I'm starting to see how a grand delusion will be easy to pull off after that. After watching the corona hysteria!

Could be a push to destroy America's economy by China. They can spare a hundred million people. Win win for them.

Maybe , but they need us.
If we lose a lot of people , the people we lose don't buy Chinese goods. The Chinese economy depends on the USA buying stuff.
If the USA economy falters , a lot of economies around the world would feel the effect.

I hear now they are looking at controlling how much money you can get out of your bank accounts.Apparently people have been pulling out money, doing a run on the banks so to speak.
Hope that doesnt happen here,

I agree you with Marty... and I have seen other signs lately which I will bring up later in another post. We can thank the News Media, Hollywood and the liberal Socialist Party.
I can only hope and pray that the Lord will intercede.

A famous Chinese guy once said 'out of chaos comes opportunity'.

If this continues as it is going for a few months the world economy is going to be in a heap of trouble. I bet someone, somewhere already has a good solution for that.

Re: Shut everything down! - 03/13/20 04:17 AM

I have been thinking about why we are being intentionally scared. Closing schools, restricting people from gathering and even scaring people into getting a month or more's shopping done all at once does have a purpose. It will hopefully slow the spread of coronavirus enough to keep the few percent of Americans, who will need medical treatment from overwhelming the hospitals, urgent cares and doctor's offices. The US medical system has very little capacity to handle more cases of anything. There is no profit in having unused staff and equipment. If the small percent of the population that will be effected all needed medical assistance in a short period, medical staff would be forced to go into triage mode and pick who to save, rather than being able to give care to all who need it.

Northern Italy is in triage mode because of a shortage of ventilators.

Well if we only bought snowshoes and milkbones for our sled dogs, I doubt it would be much of an economy, lol.

Re: Shut everything down! - 03/13/20 04:43 AM

Italy is hardest hit because it was the first European country to join Chinas belt and road initiative, therefore they owed China and and would not acknowledge the problem, (bought off) and kept close contact and allowed them in.

Looks like they will pay dearly for their China money.

But what does intentionally scaring folks do, really? Kids won't go to school. Ok, well kids recover from Covid-19 in a day or two. Those kids will be handed off to grandma and grandpa, who MAY in fact die from Covid, because Mom and Dad still need to work. Mom and Dad may not go to the concert next week, but will meet twice as many people this week in their daily job, which they cannot afford to just quit. Maybe after work tomorrow Mom might go buy a bunch of beans, rice, TP and coffee, but she won't stay home next week to use them... she'll go back to the office... being exposed to and/or exposing others to the disease. Unless they do a China style quarantine (leave your house and we'll shoot you) or people are willing to quit their livelong careers of their own volition, I just don't see the point???

Nah, the Chinese want us to buy their junk. But I'm sure they weren't happy with Trump playing hardball during trade negotiations... The Chinese have a chat with the DNC. The democrat's lapdogs in the media whip up a frenzy of panic and the economy tanks. People blame Trump and he loses the coming election. New democrat president renegotiates trade agreements that are more to the liking of the Chinese... One hand washes the other. Win-win for the Chinese and the democrats.

Re: Shut everything down! - 03/13/20 05:04 AM

People sufficiently scared of catching coronavurus will have much less contact with other people than they normally would. This will slow the inevitable spread of the disease, saving more lives of the few percent of the population, who are seriously threatened by coronavirus, by leaving more access to medical personnel, supplies and equipment.

Fear is one of the greatest motivators for human beings.

If the government just announced almost all of you won't be effected by coronavirus at all, but a tiny percentage of people will die, unless you help slow the spread of the disease, most people would not change their behavior and more of the people at risk would die.

It is all feel good and save your butt moves. Most closures are because they are afraid of lawsuits. The end results of these things are going to be worse than the virus will be unless it mutates.

Re: Shut everything down! - 03/13/20 06:28 AM

0.10% of the worlds population is 7,700,000. Seven million and 7 hundred thousand is 1/10 of one % of the worlds population.
77 million is one % of the worlds population.

5000 people dead from kung flu and the world is coming to a standstill......there is something ultimately wrong with that.

Not 50,000, not 500,000 but 5000 people dead from kung flu and the whole world is suffering greatly.

If anything ever sounded like a scam this sure does....
