Here’s a follow up article. States that it stemmed from an anonymous tip a year ago.

Where was the crime committed that that much force was needed. How would you act if at 2:30 in the morning a flash boom went off in you bedroom, ( I do not know if you could hear after the blast) and someone bust your door down. I have always supported LE. They new where he was, why not wait until he step out the door in the morning and confront him there. By the way your read the follow up report the LE did everything by the numbers. Sad all the way around. JMO

What else were they going to say?

I have long held a high respect for government and the law enforcement community but it has suffered greatly over the past couple years, and dwindling almost daily.

Boston has become a disgrace to its heritage. I love wandering the old burial grounds there, lots of famous patriots are buried there. I want my ashes sprinkled amongst them.

“Taking people out” is against the law in this country......especially sleeping people.

Depends on why he's a felon as to why they went after him that way. Did he murder or just shoplift ?

I came close to this on December 26th 2018

At 4:15 am police came to my house looking for someone I know. Apparently they had knocked , I didn't know , I was fast asleep. Shortly thereafter they kicked my door in. When they kicked my door in , I woke up. I grabbed a flashlight in my fog of being woken up and not knowing what the heck was going on because of being groggy from woken from a sound sleep. I was shining the flashlight right into the flashlight of a police officer who was walking into my bedroom. After a few very long seconds he said in a very low voice ' police ' and backed outside. At the time , in the dark , I did not recognize the dark police uniform with the lights out. I followed to the door. They wanted to know if I knew where my friend was. I replied I had not seen him for over 24 hours. They had kicked open my door somewhat accidentally by knocking and pounding so hard. It is not the most secure door when only locked from the inside.
My friend a 22yo was wanted for arson , he is a troubled young man with some bi-polar issues. Not particularly bad person , just a bit mixed up. I have been somewhat trying to be a good person and been mentoring him a bit to send him down the right path. He has been getting mental health to deal with his issues and taking medications to help as well. He and his family have told me many times I was like the rock/sounding board in his life to set him straight/follow the right path.
After determining with the police he was not there and I had no idea where he was , I told the 3 police officers present they were lucky i did not grab my shotgun. I keep a Mossberg 590 military pump right next to my bed as i sleep. I pull it out of the gun safe every night before i go to bed.
I live by gun safety . I did not know who was in my bedroom and what was behind their motives. Always recognize your target and what is behind it. At that hour totally groggy i didn't know what was going on. If I had grabbed the shotgun I would probably be dead for no reason as the police did not yell 'POLICE' as they came through the door. If it had been a home invasion I might have been dead too , but the shotgun was within reach.
I have since made the door impossible to be kicked in unless severe force to the point of a battering ram to open it at night , I did that the next day. I mulled over pressing charges against the young cop who entered my house but decided against it because the cop was young and I don't honestly think he meant to knock my door in , it was weak that is also the reason he backed up quickly and exited the house. It was a mistake on both parties and luckily no one got hurt.

My friend got 5 years for the arson. He should have really gotten nothing regarding his mental state. He is also lucky he didn't get more. I hope but doubt he is getting the help he needs while incarcerated.

The whole yelling police does nothing really, anybody can yell that.

The problem as I see it is those assault teams like to play army. Only their toys are not cap guns. Its rare when a 2 a.m. assault on a structure is the safest way for an arrest to be made. Can't let that stand in the way of pretending to be the Force from Navarone.
