Goldman sachs got a bailout in 2008. I think he ought to be riding on the back of a garbage truck or some other kind of hard physical labor. I dont know where he was in 2008 but you can bet he was sucking up those tax dollars while people I know had to go out of business over 4 dollar a gallon diesel and no freight to haul.

Good for him.I hope he does even better next year.

I always have to wonder why this bothers some people. I wonder even more how they think it affects them . If I make more or less, what impact does that have on you ?

Hate to tell you but congress tanked the market buy passing laws that made banks give loans to people that they knew couldn't pay it back , which elevated the price of real estate. which went pop

Exactly right !

Also, The taxpayers actually made about 23% profit from the bailouts. For example. Goldman borrowed 10 billion and repaid 11.4 billion a year later.

Wealthy people pay me to trap...Hope they keep making their money so they’ll keep wanting critters gone, lol! Not that wealthy people want critters gone too and pay me in turkeys. Hope they keep making enough to keep their land so I can keep trapping.
My day job CEO makes an ungodly amount of money and I take the crumbs. Those crumbs have provided for my family for the past 22 years. All they require is I do my part and get paid. I may never be wealthy, but I’m dang sure happy and have no problem with those a lot more wealthy than I am.

One mans loss is another mans gain. Just the way it is. Capitalism. You got to love it. The real question as an individual is this. What are you doing and how do you act with your wealth. Most wealthy people realize giving is very important. Most of the giving is done without anyone knowing. You can see in the last couple of weeks how employers have been treating there employees with mandated shutdowns. Pay without work.

Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world-filthy rich-he uses that money in a foundation for doing good for people in less fortunate places in the world.A good man.

I'm getting confused. One thread I read cheap people using capitalism to buy cheap goods that don't last long but since we are in a throw away society anyway why does it matter. Those people are ruining our economy by not buying higher value stuff made here, when all they are doing is buying in a free market.
But then on the other hand a CEO can rise to the top and when the company goes bankrupt, the CEO gets all the bonuses for the wonderful job he's been doing. But that's all fine because its all in the name of capitalism , but not seen the same as the cheap skate that's buying his tools from Japan in a free market.
The legs ain't the same length in that equation.

Dont feel lonely foxpaw.

I am about as far from the high finance world of banking as you can get. I read that Goldman did that too. Had to get gifted 10 billion dollars to stay afloat. However one year later, fuel is still 4 bucks a gallon, the real estate market was unrecovered, the stock market showing very minimal gains, unemployment was high, but in spite of all that a bank had enough profit, in one year, to pay 11 BILLION bavck to the government.

If I drink enough beer I can pee over the moon
