That stuff was in pelosi's house bill, not the senate version.

Did any of it pass or still held up? That is what she is holding out for either way.

Re: Stimulus bill - 03/25/20 04:06 PM

I don't have a link to it but I read yesterday where even Schumer admitted there was a lot of extraneous stuff packed in the bill by the Democrats. It has since been removed. This is another black eye for Pelosi.

Pelosi is 2nd in line of succession to become President. Apparently she still thinks there is a possibility.

Are you sure about that ? I know there is 'agreement' but I have not seen anything about an actual vote yet. The Senate is just now starting their work day. I think the vote is this afternoon

Re: Stimulus bill - 03/25/20 05:11 PM

Well, I was but now they're saying they need to vote again.

This morning, all the news was the Senate passed it at 1:30am this morning and its in the idiots hands. I'm only guessing here, but maybe the house can revise it and then send it back to the Senate for a final vote?

Re: Stimulus bill - 03/25/20 05:18 PM

The way I understand it is that the senate "negotiators" and Mnuchin were negotiating most of the night and finally reached an agreement. The Senate convened at noon ET and voted on ending debate ..cloture.........then they have to actually vote on the bill.

Next it goes to the House and Sauron has to get unanimous agreement on the senate bill

Re: Stimulus bill - 03/25/20 05:54 PM

I know this is serious stuff but I am enjoying Pickle Puss Pelosi doing one unforced error after another just to appease the Squad and other liberal radicals. There are a lot of people at home now and some are starting to pay attention. Several of my formerly clueless acquaintances have called me and said "now I see what you mean". I hope they can remember some of this stuff at election time. I'll be reminding them.

They got millions for the Kennedy Center so that's nice.

Re: Stimulus bill - 03/25/20 06:05 PM

I hope no one who is for the stimulus package ever complains about taxes. They take it from you and give you a small percentage back and people think it's great. In a sick way it's kind of funny when you think about it. What's bad is they are taking it from our kids and grandkids before they are even old enough to work. Maybe we are not as fond of them after all. Be sure to tell them you love them tonight but sorry we needed the money worse than you will.

I agree . Also I can't wait until "Big pharma" is back producing in this country and drug prices go up. All those whining about offshore production will whine even louder about more expensive meds.

Re: Stimulus bill - 03/25/20 06:17 PM

We fought wars that killed more people than this, all for the all mighty dollar.
We ignore thousands a year dying from flu viruses for the all mighty dollar.

Why are we putting so many businesses and employees in dire straights over this? Worldwide?

That won't happen, they will be cheaper because they will be subsidized. The ole, "we'll screw over everyone else and pass the savings on to you". grin

I think it's safe to say we never will
