the older generation will be the death of us - 03/28/20 12:15 AM

lol what I have seen here is the elderly coming back from out of country and going about business as usual. no quarantine no care for this virus at all. the ones that are most at risk of succumbing to this are the least worried. But we that are still working will get blamed for it????

Once you have have reconciled yourself to your own mortality, you don't let fear of death get in the way of your enjoyment of life.

I agree, actually talked about this with a friend today. When you realize how close you've been at times and are still upright for no good reason you enjoy life as you live it every day.

Agreed
But to the OPs point, it must be a Canadian thing, older folks I know in Washington are nearly barricading themselves in their houses, haven't seen my 96 yo dad in three weeks.
In remote towns in Alaska a cop will meet you at the airport to see where you are coming from, if it's out of State they will escort you to your place of quarantine for 14 days; and they are serious about it.

I couldn't agree more but what gets me is that we that are working are and will be blamed for spreading this crap.

You might want to check your statistics, the most infections are the 21-30 age group in all states, 31-40 is next. You know, the ones that thought 'the heck with it, it will only give us a mild case of the flu'. Thanks for that, your killing your parents & most especially your grandparents. And when you all remind us that we polluted the earth (and lead the charge to clean it up) while creating the very technology that you all use to abuse us 'boomers', I will say to you "What has your generation done but talk? You live on what our grandparents & parents created, on what my generation has created. Did we pollute? Yes we did & when we knew better we created the technology to fix it. What has your generation done but talk? In my middle years I watched folks with your attitude push for plastic shopping bags over paper because we were 'going to deforest the earth', there was no talking about the billions of acres that are planted in a renewable crop called lobloy pines. Plastic was the solution. Now your generation is blaming mine for plastics. Yep, you are right, we should have been as vocal & self righteous as the young liberals were then, as your generation is now on the subject of plastic pollution. ". Taser, this rant is not ment as a personal attack on you unless your one of the folks with the attitude I've mentioned, then sir it most definitely is.

Honestly I have know idea where your post came from its just "WOW"..i'm in my 50's....

infections started from those coming from out of country plain and simple.

all I was trying to say that it is pretty ironic that the group that is most likely to die from this is most likely to spread it...…..

Covid19 didn’t spread because of folks going to a flea market on Sunday morning. It took off because of international travelers, cruise ship passengers, Mardi Gras revelers , etc. What started as a rich man’s disease has now crossed into all demographics.

Spend time at a nursing home and you will understand why they don’t care about living forever.

A few years ago a little South of here, there was a guy in his middle-late eighties who somehow managed to run himself over with a tractor while helping his son put up hay.
I would prefer to go in a similar fashion.
Doing something productive or at least leaving people asking what that old fool thought that he was doing trying a stunt like that anyway.

I don't think stupidity has an age barrier. Just spent a half hr on the phone with words sister explaining why after she flies back to Ontario from bc she should quarantine.

My boss is the same way. It's not that they don't care, they just are very good at justifying why "they" don't have to follow the regulations. Everyone else should though...

Some day I am going to die.
I am not going to stop living just because I am aware of that fact.
