I like refinishing old gunstocks. It will look 100% better after your done. Picked up a rough milsurp sks and re did the old beat up laminate stock. The laminate really looks cool after sanding staining and varnishing.

They were a beautiful premium wood stock. Bought mine new early eighties. But it still looks close to mint. I'll just keep my thoughts to myself about what you did to that one. each to their own.
I know it ain't for everyone Crit. I'm not even sure if it will look good when it's done. The beauty of it is that it's easy to chemically strip and revert to the original. I was careful not to hurt the checkering any more than it already was. The gun was well abused when I got it and then I dragged it around and dispatched a few hundred animals with it myself. For $25 the gun doesn't owe me anything

Well, pretty sure I'll be redoing this in a few months. Was a good and fun little project but I don't much care for the finished product... nothing ventured, nothing gained LOL
I really question the durability of the rattle can finish.

It's a good first try. A bit too crisp and symmetrical. Give it another shot, practice makes perfect. Paint job doesn't make it shoot and better or worse either way. I'd like to try something like this. There are some YouTube videos that show how to use the Kryptek stencils. Check them out and you'll have an awesome finish next time.
