Snakes have arrived. This one came from the neighbor's basement, 2nd one in two days. She gives them to the kids.

OOOOOOOOO I run into them at Minot ND when I was in the AF, I learned the bite of a snow snake can make ya drunk !!! LOL

Yep, Had two students bit right on the neck by snow snakes right before we were sent home. Bruised them up bad! Told them to take a raw steak with them to feed the girl next time so they wouldn't have to chew on their neck. laugh

Snakes are all year here. I've kill cottonmouths every month of the year, but, to be honest, we do consider them the state bird of Alabama.

Have ran into a couple rattlesnakes the last few weeks. They weren't too active, just catching sun at the mouth of prairie dog burrows. One was pretty decent sized for this area; probably 4' or a little more.

They never even hibernated very we this yr. I found one of these each Dec, Jan, and February.
This little feller had a lot of spunk for cool weather

The wife discovered a wad of 4 garter snakes sunning on top of a bush in the yard. She watch me pick each one up by hand and put them in a box. She needed clean drawers after that. It was hilarious! The noises she made.
