Social Distancing-my wifes Idea

Social Distancing-my wifes Idea - 04/04/20 04:14 PM

Last night,my wife suggested I go out and practice --social distancing. She thought a good place for me to start, was in the parking lot of the bowling alley 8 miles away.
Now she knows the alley was closed down over 2 weeks ago and my bowling league was cancelled for the rest of the year.
She misses the one night a week she had the house to herself. LOL,she doesn't consider how I feel--no bowling,no grocery shopping,no shows to do.
I can't even take advantage of the lower gas prices.
My idea of a good place to social distance, would be 250 miles Norhtwest chasing beaver--but that isn't going to happen.
Maybe I should just go sit out in the car and dream. Keep the wife happy.

Fill up with cheap gas and take a road trip couple hours both ways. Change of scenery, especially nice scenery, is always nice.

Been a couple years since I had a whiskey sour.did have 2 beers last year.
Daughter is going grocery shopping for us today. She said she is also getting a bottle of sour and bringing me a bottle of whiskey. The bottle will probably last me till I die. I do have a bottle I won 35 or 40 years ago at a DU banquet. It is a snow goose filled with whiskey, the seal has never been broken.
Aged to perfection??

LOL,last time I had a couple 12 packs in the house was 20 years ago,for my daughters graduation party. The beer was for guests, not my child.

I've got a gallon of Canadian Club that I won in 65 that has never been opened, whiskey just isn't my thing so it just sits there getting better. I will have a beer or two once in a while that I can handle. It's h$@% to get old.

Yep ,getting old ain't for sissies.
LOL,when I was young and foolish,a 12 pack was just a warm up before going out drinking.
Now I am just old and foolish and a 12 pack lasts for decades.

Bob,if I am going to break through the ice--it will be after beaver, not panfish.
Daughter was just here after getting groceries and furnace filters for us. She also brought me some whiskey and some sour.
She said she could have drank the whiskey after being in the stores---she said how stupid other people were, they refused to keep their distances from anyone.
I said I would make a sign for her back for the next time she goes out.It would read--IF YOU GET ANY CLOSER,I AM GOING TO (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) ON YOUR SHOES.
And everyone wonders why so many of the American people must be told what they can and cannot do---they are just plain stupid.

Lester may rent out his tent for some northern beaver work;
but I think the price doubles when the coffee pot is included.

Now I am not real picky on the cleanliness of my coffee pot,but I have seen Les' stove. I have my doubts on the use of his coffee pot.

We can't even go fishing, The State shut down all boat ramps in the state along with day parks. can't fish, can't trap, my wife sent me out to stand in the front yard for awhile.

Daughter just called, she said it was so bad at wall mart, its a good thing she wasn't carrying. She said a lot of those there should have been shot. They had no consideration for other people.
What our children won't go through to help their parents.

Had to go to Walmart yesterday here. Yes only one entrance able to be used. All taped Like lanes between Enter & Exit. Signs that said to keep a 6 ft distance from others. Got what I needed. Surprised to see most of the check outs open. No line for me to check out. Surprised the Cashier actually was wiping down the spot to write checks and the keypad on the signature thing. I'll give them credit for the extra effort.

The casinos and churches are shut down so when heaven and (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) are closed you know its serious ! Tom, why don't you whip up some Moundmaster 1 with all this time and I'll buy some. You don't have to wipe down the castors before you mix my batch LOL ........................... your (previously) Favorite Top Lot Trapper.

Re: Social Distancing-my wifes Idea - 04/05/20 02:19 PM

I would love to make up a bunch of MoundMaster,I miss the house smelling like castor.
Castor prices need to drop a lot more, before I that is going to happen.
Are you doing ok right now, with everything that is going on?

Re: Social Distancing-my wifes Idea - 04/05/20 07:10 PM

Everything around this part of Nebraska is fine. Typical with Omaha having the most C-19 cases and outstate towns with very few. Limiting 1 person with 1 shopping cart in places like Mennards and WalMart so I take 1 and the wife takes the other. The over 60 "most susceptible" limit does not apply to me as my IQ is 59 (typical beaver trapper)...... Tough not seeing/holding grandkids since they live from 9 to 30 miles away but a small price to pay for a healthy area. We will be in this until the vaccine is developed so I don't look for a big change until Christmas time. Oh,, and you can send my Christmas present as the normal "social distance" 1000.00 gift card early if you want........ the mike

Where are you froze up at??? I live right across the river from you and there's no ice anywhere around? Crappies are stacked up along the old railroad bridge by the dam in Hudson. I've had no competition

Re: Social Distancing-my wifes Idea - 04/05/20 09:40 PM

Haven't seen anything in over 2 weeks, except for the kids when they bring food.So I haven't seen the river in a while,I don't fish the river and don't buy a non resident wi. license, which is to priceyanyway.
Snow is now gone on the deck and ice was gone this morning.

Lakes here by Clear Lake and Turtle lake still have ice but should be gone in a couple days.

BW is icehouse lake still stocked with trout?? It is the little bitty lake next to clear lake.
Caught my first trout there in 1957.Used to catch walleyes on Magner in the 50s and 60s.

Caught some of the largest bullheads I have ever seen on clear lake--darkness and frogs were the key.
My wife still talks about it and that was close to 30 years ago.
