Guess the breed?

Guess the breed? - 04/18/20 04:45 PM

This is my dog we got from the shelter in San Diego as a puppy 10 years ago. They had her listed as a Shepard mix but as she’s aged I highly doubt that lineage. Anyone have a guess as to what’s she’s got in her blood? She is 50 pounds and has always been very timid with the exception of a few people that rub her wrong. She sheds a lot and seems to have a double coat. [Linked Image]

She also despises cats, rabbits, and squirrels and will try to run them down.

If you really want to know, there is a blood test that will give you the genetic background.

Wisdom Panel is one product...there are a few available.

We did one on a rescue dog once. Just send them a tube of blood and the send back information. The one we did seemed pretty spot on.

Mutt with a side of sooner mix !!! That breed makes some of the best dogs. Good traits from several breeds. (or bad ones)

I think the shape of her ears is a clue. Nice looking dog, but not knowing the background of the dog, I will never own another rescue dog. It's a great program, but they need to reveal why the dog has been rescued.

She is what they said she was, a puppy out of a German Shepherd (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman), who probably was crossed up too, mated with the charm of metro areas in a pit bull, probably crossed with something out of Mexico. She is "fine boned" and that points to something little was crossed in.
Pleased you have her as she is a good dog.

A bit of terrier (denoted by thin legs and the length), could be some black mouth cur due to shape of the muzzle and head. Nothing really jumps out.
Maybe the thin and long legs could be a bit of some sight hounds. Legs are built for speed but the body is not.
