Well, dang.

Well, dang. - 04/21/20 09:10 PM

So I go off to work this morning at 0:530 and notice a beat up old Dodge Neon partially in the ditch and a little on the road.
So I thinks the poor guy probably hit a deer or a cow as they are both on our roads and if'n ya do not pay attention you could smack one.
Back now at1600 and the car is still there.
So I call my local Sherriff's Department and tell the dispatch guy about the problem.
He says are you sure the driver is just not out turkey hunting or hiking.

I say no, he would be on my land without permission, please send a deputy and a wrecker out here to remove the vehicle.
These are indeed trying times but for Christ sake, what a wake up for me. If'n you ever need help quick you had best provide it on your own.

Most never realize that the police are mostly documenters. Rarely they show up when a major crime is taking place. They show up when it's all over to document evidence. It's up to you to defend yourself. This was explained to me during my first class in college in about the first half hour from an ex police captain.

Most times when we call it is about an hour before a county mounty shows up -- me and the neighbors usually have taken care of the problem by then.

Hey, Mike Bloomburg says call the cops. You don’t need to carry. He ought to know. His security detail is only seconds away.

Those Neons had a smash the steering column and start with the spark, must have run out of gas.
Did it have NY plates ?
all stolen cars are treated as " bio-hazards" and it is a pain to get them de-commissioned now.

Was there a AAA sticker on it ? Are they still offering 250$ reward for lost recovered.

Well a couple guys finally came and got it off the road and left broken pieces and junk everywhere.
One of the guys was standing on the road taking a P and I confronted them. He told me to "mind my business old man."
I just smiled and glanced at the AR 15 on my atv and said sure. Called the po po again, still parts on the road yet this morning.
I suppose I will pick them up after work today.
